Very frequent Braxton Hicks 25 weeks

Hi,

I’m 25+2 and since yesterday afternoon I’ve had really frequent Braxton Hicks contractions. They aren’t unusual for me. I usually get them more if I’ve been too busy or stressed.

They aren’t causing me pain but it’s the frequency that’s concerning me. Yesterday/last night they were every 5-10 minutes and I spent over an hour last night awake downstairs because I couldn’t sleep through them (due to being uncomfortable, not due to the pain).

I decided it was best to call the maternity assessment ward at my hospital and I spoke to a midwife this morning. She said that since they aren’t causing pain, the baby is moving fine and I haven’t had any fluid loss down below then there’s no need for me to come in. I should just rest and drink lots of water. I’m working from home and trying not to move around too much.

The thing is that they are still really frequent…. Every 4 minutes or so now. There’s still no pain, but I feel like it must be really draining for my body when I’m already probably quite tired. The midwife said that they probably won’t even put me on continuous monitoring, but instead have someone sit with me and feel my bump… which seems like a wasted trip to the hospital?

What would you do? Go to hospital to get checked or try to rest more and hope it goes away?

It sounds like you're worried and to be honest I would be too as they're so frequent. I would go in myself. You're only going to worry yourself otherwise
