Is 10 dpo too early??

So i did the deed 1 or 2 days before ovulation according to my body and an app that i used. not sure of the exact day but sure its either 1 or 2 days before. at about 6 or 5 dpo i felt a sharp pain on the right side of my pelvic area which continued the following day on and off and i also saw a small black spot in my knickers.i woke up at about 9 or 10 dpo with heavy breast i felt it wen i walked. it got less heavy in the evening.i tested at 10 or 11 dpo and it was bfn is it possible its too early or am out as if that was implantation i would have atleast gotten a faint positive right?

I got a faint positive at 12 DPO but I'm not sure how it would have looked at 10 or 11.

Could be too early or could be a true negative. Obviously the only way to tell is by taking another test in a few days if your period hasn't started!!
