Hi everyone.
within the past couple of days I have had my IUD removed due to it being misplaced only to find out I am now expecting twins😱(very early days). Does anyone have any stories they would like to share with me?
The nurses said removing my IUD had a risk of a miscarriage but equally they couldn’t keep it in.
with my having the coil I’ve also not been taking folic acid as I never expected this to happen😩.

Congratulations! This happened to a friend of mine. Big shock. The DD is lovely and adored by all.

Has anyone had any experience in having a misplaced coil removed? GP unable to locate it and an ultrasound scan has confirmed
it's misplaced and needs to come out so have been referred to Gynae for them to remove. Waiting to hear from them but no idea what the removal procedure involves. Will I be numbed? It hurt like hell when GP was trying to locate it so really not looking forward to what is potentially to come.

@EY1980 I had a coil removed a few years ago, they were able to see it but it had moved higher up than normal and they weren't able to pull it out as they normally do. I ended up being asked to come back a few weeks to be put under general anesthesic - sounds a bit dramatic but it was a very easy procedure and over in 20 minutes. No pain when I woke up.

It probably depends on where your coil is exactly! But I do remember it being painful when they tried pulling it out the first time. Good luck
