Hey ladies, so I had bloods done on Monday at 6+1 then 48 hours later, they were at 22,100 and have only risen to 23,400

That's not good news is it?

Do you mean HGC? Generally they are looking for them to double every 24 hours.

ohCARP · 19/05/2022 09:22

"In the first four weeks of a viable pregnancy, hCG levels will typically double about every two to three days. After six weeks, the levels will double about every 96 hours. So, if your baseline level is higher than 5 mIU/mL, your doctor may order a repeat test a couple days later to see if the number doubles."

HCG. And they should be doubling every 48 hours at the beginning. This rate slows down after 6 weeks or so, so it might be ok @Moosh18

Are they taking them again?

Moosh18 · 19/05/2022 09:27

@Regenbogen22 I don't know I didn't even get them from a doctor just the receptionist reading them out! I'm hoping to get a call later... I know they slow down after 6000 but not to this level, they should of been up by at least 10k :(

Definitely ask to have it tested again with another 48 hour gap

TinyBearCub · 19/05/2022 09:30

I had these tests recently and had a chat with my fertility clinic doctor about the results. After 5/6 weeks and once levels get over about 6,000 the doubling time is less relevant and could be much longer than 48 hours. I kind of think they just don't know (which is incredibly annoying for me as I had paid a lot of money to get some answers as wanted to know whether I was likely to miscarry again). My levels went up by 40% over 48 hours and the clinic advised cautious optimism (have had some bleeding) and to try and hold out until over seven weeks for a scan. They offered a third blood test if I thought it would make me feel better as they could attempt to track the upwards trend but I declined as I think it would just make me more stressed.

Have you not had any feedback from whoever did the tests for you? I think you've got another scan booked, right?

TinyBearCub · 19/05/2022 09:32

Sorry, cross posted, I see that you are waiting for another call!

Moosh18 · 19/05/2022 09:39

@TinyBearCub I'm just waiting on a call from doc, but assuming that they will just send me for more bloods which will be a long wait till
Monday x

The epu have contacted me and will see me tomorrow, she said don't worry too much about your levels as an inter uterine pregnancy has been confirmed, but I'm not sure what that has to do with hcg levels
