Hey ladies 👋

First time mum over here!

Can anybody recommend some good podcasts/ videos/ books/ apps about pregnancy, hypnobirthing and delivery?

I really want to get myself in a good head space. I had my first booking in appointment yesterday and realised how naive I am to this whole crazy journey! I am also needle phobic and have been very anxious about blood tests etc (I threw up and fainted in my first one yesterday) and I really don’t want this phobia to overshadow my pregnancy experience. I will be having another blood test at my 12 week scan and the nerves are already spoiling the excitement for hopefully seeing our little peanut 💕

Thank you for any advice 😊

No idea but I’m a first time mum too due in November so here for the suggestions :)

Really recommend Birth Uprising hypnobirthing course. The 'Your No Guilt Pregnancy Plan' book and 'Positive Birth Book' are also great. My husband read How To Be A Dad and really rates it. I also like Jessie Ware's 'Is It Normal' pregnancy podcast which goes through week by week.

I haven't had my baby yet but I've found all of these have helped me feel more informed and relaxed around birth and know what is happening in my body

Not pregnancy but Your Baby Week by Week is an amazing baby book for the first 6 weeks. Really easy to read and lots of good, practical, non judgemental information

I am amazed how hard it is to find a good pregnancy podcast considering how many they are. Most of them are judgy or very heteronormative...

That being said I would second Jessie Ware's Is It Normal? As well as Rose and Rosie Parental Guidance on Spotify.
