Baby not putting on weight

Baby boy born 8lb7

1 week weigh 7lb11

3 days later 7lb9

Weighed twice more at 2 day intervals and stayed at 7lb9

He's now 19 days old and is still 7lb9

He's exclusively breastfed and I'm feeding on demand, aiming for thr recommended 10 feeds a day from midwife and attempting to pump and top him up but nothing seems to be bulking him up.

Anyone else had this issue, midwife sent me to the hospital yesterday to get him some observations but I had to leave after 3 hours without seeing the doctor because it was my other child's birthday...heading back today.

Midwives starting to stress me out a little about it all..baby is alert and lots of wet nappies though.

I'm kinda confused tbh...This isn't a significant weight drop so why all the fuss from your midwife? If baby is feeding on demand, and is not hungry, lots of wet nappies then what is the problem? I've actually not heard of this before OP, sorry I couldn't be much help.

Mine was like this and 10 weeks later after I had battled and battled with ebf it finally turned out he had tongue tie, which I must have asked 8 midwives and doctors about! Nhs are famously bad at spotting it. Try not to stress though, he was born at a good healthy weight. Also, contrary to what I thought 2 years ago, formula is not the devil and doesn't have to be the end of your breastfeeding "journey"

One more thing - if you had a c section or otherwise had to be on a drip yourself during Labour, apparently that fills the baby full of water making them weigh more at birth. So the drop might not be as dramatic as it looks.
