Next baby clothes sizing for smaller babies

I know there have been a few posts on Next, but they're a few years old and don't necessarily discuss the smaller sizes, so hope you don't mind.

Baby girl is measuring 4lbs7 at 35 weeks and is going to be delivered at 39 weeks or at 37 weeks if our next growth scan doesn't show much progress. Hopefully she'll be over the 5lb mark, but probably less than 6lbs.

Question is what size clothes to buy!? Most shops seem to do up to 5lbs (too small) or up to 7lbs (too big), which feels like a big gap to me!

I've heard Next baby clothes run big so maybe the 5lbs clothes might work right up to about 6lbs... has anyone bought their 5lb clothes?

My daughter was 5lb6oz, but skinny, so up to 5lb (or tiny baby) fitted her for around a month. She then went into Newborn. As she outgrew newborn, 0-3 dwarfed her, so she spent a month or so in up to 1 month, before wearing 0-3. We went through a lot of different clothes sizes in the first year 🤣

The people saying about dresses, I didn't get any fancy ones just little cotton ones. My little one was summer born and born in a heat wave, spent first few weeks in her nappy as it was hot, so a non faffy cotton dress with a nappy was ideal x
