Hi!

Long time admirer, first time user of mumsnet :)
So I've just found out I'm pregnant, 2-3 weeks according to clearblue (so 5 weeks according to how doctors do it?!). But I've had no symptoms at all and reading through do's and don'ts, did pretty much everything I wasn't supposed to in the first few weeks so now I'm freaking out!
Is it possible I'm not pregnant any more but not bled at all?! I did 6 positive tests btw.
This is my second pregnancy. The first I terminated and to be honest I live in fear that I might not have a baby due to some karma related issue.
Did any of you not have symptoms or get them later? The Internet is giving me mixed messages but consensus seems to be I should be feeling something.

When you're first technically pregnant you aren't connected to the foetus via the placenta as it hasn't grown yet, so anything that can later cause harm to a developing baby via the bloodstream doesn't actually affect it.

It's also very common to not have symptoms at 5 weeks. Everybody's body is different and has different levels of the hormones that cause symptoms. This pregnancy I never had any symptoms before 6 weeks except being tired, and then from 6-13 weeks threw up every day and was nausea whenever I was awake.

But my other pregnancies I had virtually no symptoms at all

Congratulations!

Currently 24 weeks pregnant with my second after losing my first baby at 33 weeks last year. With my first baby (my son) I would say I had some 'classic' symptoms, nausea, bloated etc. This time I had nothing, I was actually convinced I'd missed my chance that month!
I completely understand the worry of karma, but that is just your mind playing tricks. I unfortunately had to end the pregnancy with my son at 33 weeks because he was so poorly and had been suffering from strokes and seizures in the womb that caused very significant brain damage. Even though he was a much wanted baby I was worried I'd missed my one and only chance to have a baby. But I am now 24 weeks with a (so far) happy and healthy little girl 🌈
Don't beat yourself up about karma.
Good luck to you 🌺

My symptoms always hit around 7 weeks with my 3 pregnancies. At 6 weeks, I was always freaking out that I’d lost the baby. By 8 weeks I was throwing up multiple times a day and questioning all my life decisions :p

I highly recommend the books “Expecting Better” and “Crib Sheets” by Emily Oster. They took a lot of anxiety out of pregnancy and newborn parenting for me.

I had no symptoms with my first until around 3 months and also drank and smoked before I knew I was pregnant! She's currently lay next to me snoring away and is 2 next month.

Try not to worry & enjoy the journey! 🥰🥰

Oh thank god for that hah. I went on a bender over bank holiday weekend, smoked fags ( I quit 4 years ago) sunbed (which I haven't done in years) the lot. It was the drinking that really worried me so glad to hear it didn't do yours any harm 🥰
