Early scan-blood flow questions

Hi all
I had my 12 week scan ( although I was 14 weeks ). One of the results worried me. On my paper it says about uterine artery and and PI. I think this is something to do with blood flow ?

Anyway my results were
R.Uterine artery : 3.15
L Uterine artery :2.56

These results seem high to me although I have no real idea what they mean. I am seeing my midwife Monday. Does anyone know what this means / had similar ?

Thanks

Hi @Moneyquestions22 I will attach a photo of my PI values from my 12/13 week scan. You can see the values numerically and also where they fall on the little scale line. The diamonds are my values. The scale line shows standard min and max levels, and the average value would lie on the little line in the centre.
As you can see, my values are waaaaaay off!! The PI value indicates resistance to blood flow in the uterine arteries, so as you imply, the lower the better. I was pleased about that!
Unfortunately I don't know where on the scale your levels would fall, so maybe someone else also has a similar image from their scan report? I'm aware this doesn't answer your question, I thought it might nevertheless be a bit helpful to see the pic.

But definitely ask the midwife on Monday, that's what they're there for!

Hhmm, you'll have to click the image to see the full picture. 🤗

Sorry for all the posts, but you sent me down an internet rabbit hole on this topic 😂If it does transpire that the values are a bit high, low dose aspirin and omega 3 fatty acids help, as does regular walking and yoga.

Didn't they discuss all values with you during the scan? I'm not in the UK so maybe it's done differently there. 😜

Hey I’ve been told now it is high , but at this stage this is nothing that can be done :(

Hhmm, weird, I'd have thought they would have at least started you on aspirin

Hi Regen
I think they will , I will talk to my midwife Monday . It wasn’t even flagged on their end . At least I have raised it now . Thanks for your replies :)
