Hi all

So I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant due 17th June and I've been using hair removal cream usually. Now it's getting a bit tricky to do myself so I've considered getting a full wax at a beauticians around 34/35 weeks.

What is everyone else doing in prep for labour?! Leaving it au natural, DIY or seeking help from a professional?!

The Midwives really don't care about how neat it is down there but I just think in the middle of June I'll be thankful for it esp if it's hot 😂

I had a wax late on not for vanity reasons but I found it easier to keep clean with the maternity pads/Lochia after birth, not necessary but just made me feel fresher! Good luck 😊

I'm just conscious waxing hurts extra much when pregnant so I think I'm too much of a chicken!

I'll be attempting blind shaves lol I think - I just pray I don't inadvertently end up with a beaver mullet 🤣

I get waxed myself, but if you've never been waxed before I'm not sure that at 35 weeks pregnant is the time to try it!

In fact I don't think the waxer I go to would do it, unless you'd been a regular client before/throughout your pregnancy.

I've been waxed before just not while pregnant so was a bit apprehensive. I've called beauticians today and booked in for a Hollywood, they said they regularly wax pregnant women in their 3rd trimester 😂🙈

I mostly use an electric trimmer to keep it short and then shave a bit round it as needed. However couldn't do the shaving once I was big so started getting waxed instead. But as I say, that was just normal bikini waxes not all gone. It was nothing to do with 'prep' for birth, just maintaining my own personal preferences. With DC2 the last wax I had was about a week before he was born, he was quite overdue.

Oh also I should have said, it definitely never hurt more than when not pregnant. I was worried about that too but it was always absolutely fine. Although obviously I didn't go anywhere near the full hog that you're planning hah.

Butternutsqoosh · 14/04/2022 18:11

I did it at 20 weeks with my twins and it hurt more than the fires of hell ... just to warn you. Nearly made her stop halfway through ... fuck me ... didn't want to feel wonky though!

Samthenanny · 14/04/2022 18:28

I get waxed regularly, Brazilian but didn’t in the first trimester as my waxer wouldn’t allow it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I went at 14 weeks and it hurt a tiny bit more than normal but not too bad and my waxer ended up giving me a Hollywood by mistake as she was busy predicting the babies sex 🤣 luckily I’ve been going to her for years so we’re pretty friendly. I’ll carry on I think all throughout and my thought is, if I tear and need stitching up surely it’ll be easier if you can see a bit better 😁

I have a Hollywood every few weeks and will definitely be booking in as normal before my due date. Just think it will be easier to clean/see etc with a fresh wax! X

39w here, section booked in 6 days. I've been using my husbands beard trimmer as you can't shave/wax/cream before a section apparently, so I'm just keeping neat and being thankful that I really can't see anything 😂
