I’m 13 weeks and wondering when the first internal exam is?

During labour when I arrived at the hospital, 6cm dilated.

Usually it’s if there is a problem like your bleeding or contracting when you shouldn’t be. Other wise it will be when your in labour

Never. And I've had 5 babies!

Peculiar.

There is no reason in a normal pregnancy progressing as per standard expectations - to have internal examinations or for anyone to need to look at your nethers.

Not until labour with my first and then not at all with second as was section.
Easy to think there will be as American sitcoms seem to have pregnant wome legs akimbo getting examined constantly.. but that's a money thing.. there is no need.

@Thejoyfulstar

In some countries outside the UK its common practise. I had a few during pregnancy with this baby in Italy. They were obsessed with checking my cervix as standard. I even had one after my c section. Cervix was fine then too!
Yep, here in Germany my gynaecologist did one around 16 weeks to check the cervix.

But we have smear tests and internal exams once a year here anyway. Nothing new Grin
