Probably a stupid question but need to ask

Hi everyone i'm currently 15w 2d and I've been suffering with a very bad cough for 7 days now, been to the doctors and was given inhalers as they think it's asthma. Anyway every time I cough fluid leaks out like alot. I wanted to know if its possible to cough that much that amniotic fluid will leak out? I'm asking because after a coughing episode during the night I leaked alot of fluid but then I went to the toilet and urinated alot. So now I'm panicking that the fluid leaked while coughing wasn't urine??

Its probably a very stupid question and I don't want to be asking my midwife about it incase she thinks I'm daft lol!

It's definitely something you should ask your midwife about. I swear she won't think you're daft for that!

Midwives hear an awful lot of things. You really won't be judged at all for this!

Absolutely not a stupid question at all. The likelihood is that the leaking is urine BUT if its amniotic fluid it could be serious so you need to get checked out. Please don't hesitate to contact your midwife if you're worried. It's what she's there for!

I do this OP, it sometimes feels like the fluid is coming out of my vagina but I’m actually weeing a little bit Definitely get checked out if you’re unsure though.

Definitely check with your midwife they won't think your wierd I asked them all sorts of random things and they never blinked an eye lol. But if it helps I was told when I was waiting to go into labour the way to tell if its waters leaking or urine is the smell, amniotic fluid doesn't smell apparently.

If you are worried then raise it. But it will most probably be urine. But its not a silly question.
