If you've had preeclampsia?

Feel like such an idiot I haven't been feeling well but didn't think anything of it. Just thought it's coming to the end of this pregnancy now hence why I am feeling this way.

Had my antenatal appointment this morning, high blood pressure and protein in urine, just waiting for blood tests and urine to come back.

I've been feeling crappy really headaches and my eyes are very sensitive to light.

I haven't noticed any swelling, if you had preeclampsia can I ask if you didn't have the swelling side of things? And just other symptoms?

First pregnancy pre-eclampsia, loads of swelling. Second, no swelling but headaches, high BP & kidney issues.
Hope your ok.

I didn't have any symptoms with mine, it can present very differently

First pregnancy I had swelling. We were in a heatwave at the time though, which could have been equally culpable. Second pregnancy, no swelling. No other pre-eclampsia symptoms either.

My face went puffy, particularly my eyelids that was when already had high BP and protein.

Only my feet were swollen. I saw a consultant out of hours about a week before I went into labour because I was worried that they weren't going down as they normally did in the evenings and was basically told 'of course your feet are swollen, you're pregnant' and that my BP was normal - it was on the normal range but really quite high for me, which he would have seen if he'd actually read my notes. Saw my midwife a few days later for a routine appointment and she said my BP was certainly up (and up again from when I'd seen OOH) and told me to be alert for other symptoms. I didn't get any, but was finally diagnosed when I arrived at the hospital in labour (based on either a urine sample or a blood test, I don't remember). I did feel quite ill with it at times after I'd given birth.

Firstly, don't feel silly. I had PE and I was sooooo swollen, looking back I don't understand why I wasn't checked more often as I felt like shit and looked dreadful but my blood pressure was never that high so I slipped through the net. By the time the blood test highlighted how bad it was I had to be induced straight away (35 weeks) and then had liver scans and blood tests for some months after to make sure my liver function was returning to normal.

Had pre eclampsia with my 2nd and only physical sign I had was swollen feet but just put that down to the extra weight on them. Went for a growth scan and bloods due to issues with my placenta and found out I had pre eclampsia and was induced at 34 weeks

First pregnancy had really late onset pre-eclampsia. It was sudden and very severe, no symptoms
Second pregnancy developed pre eclampsia at 35 weeks, no symptoms at first except headaches, this progressed to flashing lights, vomiting and pain in my liver area. Swelling was actually one of the last symptoms and even then it would come and go and wasn't bad at all

I didn't have any symptoms apart from high blood pressure. I think i was lucky that it got caught early during my 36 week checks. I had to go to hospital every 2 days to check blood pressure /give blood for a week then got induced 1 day before 37 weeks. Baby arrived at 37+1 . Took a week for my blood pressure to go down after that. Best of luck x
