Heavily pregnant in summer

Due DC3 at end of August. Very excited and happy but dreading the hot weather- I don't cope well in the heat anyway and am already working about it. Had anyone who has been heavily pregnant in the height of summer got any top tips to help me cope?

Also hanging a wet towel up in your bedroom when you go to bed.

I remember hanging the wet washing out 9pm at night and it being drying 7am in the morning for months.

Keep your curtains as closed as possible during the day so the sun doesn't heat up the room.

Cold towels in the room at night.

All the ice pops!

Ice cold water

I gave birth to DS2 at the end of August in 2018 - it was likened to the summer of 76. I was so lucky that due to my SPD, I had to move to a downstairs cooler classroom to carry on teaching.

I often went barefoot and if I could, cold wet cloths on my feet.

DC1 was a summer baby and it was extremely hot for weeks before he was born.

My tip would be - get a good pair of shoes. A supportive pair of trainers for example. Don't make my mistake and just live in flip flops because they're easy to slide off and on. I destroyed my feet and still have pain to this day in the arches. I thought as it was only the last few weeks it wouldn't matter but looking back now I'd slap myself with one of those silly flimsy flip-flops for being so stupid Blush

I was heavily pregnant when we had the heatwave in May 2018... cold flannels and lots of ice lollies for me!

Buy some fans now in case they sell out in the summer. I had one in my bedroom, and one for downstairs
