Midwife appt today confirmed babies head is ‘practically engaged’ (her words) & now this evening I’m having very strong twinges/sharp pains way down low almost as if I can feel them right in my cervix. Is this just linked to baby becoming engaged? FTM so have so many questions at every new feeling I get Grin

Did the midwife mention how engaged you are? I was 3/5 engaged at my last appointment and had pains like this, I think they call it lightning crotch pain. That was at 36 weeks, I'm now 37+4 and baby still cooking away

@boymummys thank you for replying, the midwife didn’t say no. I was just having a lot of pain down below & when she felt around she just said it’s due to babies head being ‘practically engaged’. I didn’t think to ask any further questions!

I think it absolutely is just lightning crotch! Thank you :)
