Currently 39 weeks with our third baby which MIL has been asking for the longest time and after a visit telling me to plan her 4th gc in a few years 😳 😂

What is the most shocking thing a MIL has said to you?

My second mil kicked off I was planning on bf dc. Apparently it wasn't fair because she didn't manage it and ds should be fed the same as his df was
..
And dc were def not allowed nappy - free time as they would get sexual feelings.
Batshittery at it's best.
Obviously ignored her..

My MIL told my DP that she thought I was an attention seeker and needed to get a grip…whilst I was on my third agonising day in hospital with an ectopic pregnancy. She then had a row from him as he was enraged and she cried like a baby and said she couldn’t cope with it and felt like I was teasing her with grandchildren only to rip them away from her Confused as if I had asked for two previous miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy. We haven’t had a relationship since then and neither myself or DP had any support from her when I returned home or an apology for what was said, it was all about her. I’m now due my firstborn this week and I’m not looking forward to her being up my ass just to get to him.

My MIL is very direct and quite a bit older than my parents, mine are in their 50s and the in laws are in their late 70s. She had made it no secret that she did not want any more babies as they were "too old to look after babies" and we didn't have plans of extending on our family.

My shock in January we had a surprise BFP and we were both terrified of telling his mum. When we did tell her she had been to the pub for sunday lunch with a few wines and was sat on the couch with a glass of red wine. My partner told her that I was pregnant and she shouted "F***G HELLLLLL!!" and dropped her red wine all over the living room carpet.

Safe to say she is happy for us now but for sure a shocking pregnancy reaction hahaha
