Due my second DC in July. My DD will have just turned two so looking for a safe baby rocker I can plonk the baby down in while I sort DD Smile didn't really use one for my first, so don't know where to start. DD did t like laying flat for long so preferably one that has multi positions for as they get older. Thanks Smile

This thread is quite old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’re looking for rockers, we’ve recently updated our best baby bouncer page with lots of great options tried and tested by MNHQ and real parents. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

I am due in May and we have bought a Nuna Leaf Grow Smile I love that it converts into a little chair for when they get older too!

This is another one we're looking at, which model you getting?

We got BabyBjorn from Ebay. There's loads available second hand for less than £100 if you don't want to fork out £250 for something you can't be sure the baby will even like! You could always get a new cover for it too, although those are like £70 so might not actually work out much cheaper.

lustforlife · 18/03/2022 10:03

Thank you, will look at both of them. Definitely open to getting one second hand

We use the Tiny Love 3 in 1 Napper. It has raised sides so baby is protected from eager toddlers, rocks, vibrates, lies flat or raised, has a mobile hanging over with light and sound, and turns into a seat for weaning. Dc growed out of it about 8 months.

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz thanks, I like the look of that one as we have two big nosey dogs too!

I know some of them can be super pricey but my friend got one off Facebook market place for much less. Personally we didn’t use one, we had a cheap mamas and papas seat instead with some toys hanging from the bar. My theory was that if the baby was used to being rocked continuously in the rocker maybe it would make it more difficult to get them to settle when I tried to put them down to sleep in their flat cot that didn’t rock 🙈 I’d had so many friends who used these (possibly for longer than it’s recommended for) but they struggled to get their baby to sleep and would be out in the car before bed going over speed bumps desperate for them to sleep. Either my theory was correct (for my baby) or I just got a sleepy one because he’s slept all night since 6 weeks. I definitely think I’d stick to the same again next time although it would be more difficult having another child to try and sort out at the same time but I think using it could possibly cause me more hassle with the sleep issue than the short respite it actually gave me 🙈

Fisher price baby to toddler rocker was the nuts, if they still make them.

lustforlife · 18/03/2022 16:15

@willwewontwe yeah good point my first has always been a terrible sleeper, always had to be rocked to sleep etc. we had a side to side rocker for her as a newborn!

@nearlyspringyay I like the look of that!

We love our fisher price infant to toddler rocker, it was a life saver for my reflux DD and will be using it for this one too, even though my toddler still likes to sit in it haha!

We had a secondhand baby bjorn bouncer from eBay and it was one of the best things we bought in the end, with the little toy bar that attaches to it. It was a godsend when we couldn't put our little boy down for naps when he was really small and when we quickly needed to get something done!

I've got the kinderkraft 5 in 1 something or other for my grandson to be.
