BabyEllsBells

I have used the EPU at Kingston hospital in March 2006. I seem to remember I had to go through my GP both times I had a scan, so think you cannot self refer.

I also went to A&E one evening and they admitted me overnight as they couldn't scan till 8 am when EPU opened.

It is a very small EPU, not like the hospital I now live near. That one you can self refer, or at least I did!

Be prepared, it is in a very small room - at least it was in 2006. Almost like a broom cupboard!

BabyEllsBells · 16/01/2008 16:36

ha ha yeah its still is well it was the last time i went in october.

Hi, I had a missed M/C last april and am now nearly 30 weeks pregnant. I have been paranoid all the way though... - had some light spotting at about 5.5 wks, so went to the doctor and asked about an early scan, - they referred me to the hospital and gave me an appointment for 6 weeks... they did an internal scan and you could see the babies heart beating, which reassured me. I was then really nervous about the 12 week scan as that was when i was told the baby had been dead for 2 weeks in my first pregnancy. Anyway, all was fine, then the 20 wk scan came and that too was fine... - even so, i am still paranoid now - its really reassuring when you can feel the baby moving about though, and also when you get past about 25 weeks and know that if the baby was to come that it would have a good chance of survival. Anyway, try not to think about it too much - at the end of the day if its meant to be then it will happen! Good luck! I hope all goes well! xx

Hi ladies,

just thought i would share my experience with you, as it's nice to know i'm not the only one out there. I found out i had missed miscarried on my 12 week scan at the end of October 07. This was my second pregnancy, i have a beautiful son who is just under 2 and half. I also found out on New Years eve i am pregnant again. I belive i am between 8 and 9 weeks as i haven't had a period! I to am worried it may happen again but this time round i feel so different don't know if this is a good thing or not. i have no sickness no sore boobs... some would say lucky but sometimes i do wonder if i am pregnant! Last time i had major tummy pains for about two months, i had a early scan to find out dates and this was all ok, baby was a blob but a blob with a heart beat, must have been soon after this i miscarried. Now i wonder whats the statistics of having two missed miscarriages. I really don't want to go through that again. Again all i can do is take every day as it comes but with having a missed m/c how do i know it won't happen again until i have a scan.

BabyEllsBells · 24/01/2008 14:15

hailbop thats great news!!
i feel the same no really bad sickness. boobs are sore. if you are worried maybe have another scan.
i have booked a scan for tomorrow as i just cant calm down. had some discharge with streaks of blood. v worried xx
