Is my baby small? Advice needed

Hi ladies need your help and advice.

Currently 29+3 weeks pregnant (IVF pregnancy)

Saw my consultant around week 15-16 who said IVF babies tend to be a bit smaller, so I will have an extra scan at week 32 (but scan is at week 32+6) and then see him after about the result.

Up untill now when I’ve had week 12 and 20 scan nothing has been mentioned about baby’s size, 3 days ago I saw community midwife who measured me and said fundal height is 28cm she said baby is a little bit small but nothing to worry about at the moment. I don’t feel huge, I’ve only put on 4 kg up untill now and bump size has been the same for the last month or even more, on NHS website it says baby is about 1.2kg now but I find it hard to believe that as I don’t feel big at all.

My scan isn’t till about 3.5 weeks and not seeing the midwife untill the week after the scan.
A private scan here is about £60-70 which I’m thinking of having done to check if baby is small.

Please advice me shall be worried about this or not? I have attached the picture from the midwife.

Thank you in advance. 🙌🏻

For size scans you need three scan each 2 weeks apart. I would wait until your 20 week scan.

You’re (understandably) over worrying. Fundal height isn’t particularly accurate. All your scans so far have been fine. I know it’s hard but try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. With my first I only gained 1.5 stone total. My daughter was 6lb 2 weeks early and perfectly healthy.

She's 29 weeks, she's had it.

That graph doesn’t show anything particularly dramatic. It’s not clear whether it’s a graph predicting your personal fundal height growth, or whether it’s based on population averages. Either way, you’re bump is straddling the 50% percentile line. So you were measuring just above the 50th percentile and now you’re measuring just below. So the growthrate has slowed down a little bit from what they were expecting.

I am also an ivf pregnancy now I was told by my consultant that I am to have growth scan every 4 week after 28 weeks. I have had 2 baby on small side but said aslong as that baby pattern they not concerned. If it was to go really low or high then I would go to two week scans. I had only put 8lbs on baby weight 2lb on first growth scan. I ask both midwife and consultant if I should be worried both said no as my body isn't show signs of baby not getting enough eg hair skin teeth. My last growth scan baby weights 4lb and still on its line of growth pattern. Every scan had shown baby very happy and blood flow and heart. I attach my growth scan for you

Update:

I called a private clinic a couple of days after I posted here who said there’s no point of doing growth scan until you’re 32 weeks as it won’t be accurate so I decided not to.
I then went in to hospital 4 days ago for my growth scan at 31+4 weeks (I had my growth scan earlier) and baby was fine, not small but measuring perfect 👍🏻🙏🏻 and sonographer/midwife said estimated weight is 1.7 kg so I am very relieved 👍🏻🙏🏻
She also said fundal height measurement isn’t correct and not to rely on that.

Thank you again ladies for your advice 👍🏻
