Round ligament pain at 8 weeks?

Hi all,
I'm currently about 8 weeks pregnant with pregnancy 4. (One child, two miscarriages.) In all of my last 3 pregnancies (this one and the two losses) I have had sharp shooting pains in my uterus area at different points. It has always been one of the tell-tale signs that I was pregnant before it showed up on a test and I was told by the midwives that this is a sign of implantation.
However, I'm now finding that I'm getting strong sharp pains even at week 8. When I read about them online they sound exactly like round ligament pain, but it seems too early for that? I get them when I stand up from being sat down for a long time or if I turn over funny in bed. It's not a cramping feeling at all and doesn't feel like the pains of a miscarriage. It's a sharp pulling pain and lasts a few seconds before disappearing.
Has anyone else experienced this at week 8? How did your pregnancy progress?

I had round ligament pain as my first symptoms in 4 pregnancies.

@Garman thanks for your reply. All the articles about it seem to say it appears in the second trimester but it definitely feels like what they are describing.

Hi OP, I'm getting these pains too, mainly when I move or twist and I am 8+1. This is my first pregnancy so I have nothing to compare to but my research led me to round ligament pain too.

I'm hypermobile so my ligaments probably react earlier, but lots of women get it in first trimester, stop Googling 🙂

@LondonladyTTC Seems we can get it earlier 😊

I'm only 4+2 and I'm pretty sure I have it. I sneezed today and felt like I'd been stabbed. Yesterday rolled over in bed and felt really same.

Curious about PP comment on hypermobility as I have that, too!
