Feeling faint, sick and constipated - is this dehydration?

Today (22 weeks pregnant) I had an episode that used to happen around the time of my period and before I went on the pill. While out and about, I suddenly felt faint and had to sit down. Then I felt like getting sick. Then I felt an urge to poop - once I did, I felt instantly better. I tried to explain this to doctors before and the consultant during my booking-in, but they just told me to eat more fibre to avoid constipation. But I wasn’t constipated so that doesn’t help. It comes on suddenly with no warning.

I’m now wondering if it has something to do with dehydration, but I drank two cups of tea before I left the house and I don’t feel thirsty. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Sorry in case that was a little unclear: I have not been constipated and felt fine this morning. The feeling of being faint, nauseous, and constipated all came on suddenly.

Hi RubyRoss, not sure if it's exactly the same, but I had a few instances of having a bit of a funny turn around 20-26 weeks. I wasn't dehydrated, but agree I felt better after pooping. I figured it was a blood pressure thing - standing up for too long/extra blood floating around/need to poop all affect blood pressure. It often happened when I was out so I'd go home, use the loo and feel better.

It could be low blood pressure

Agree it could be blood pressure. It’s helped by drinking more

Thanks so much everyone. That makes sense.

This actually happened to me today for the first time, 20 weeks pregnant and I fainted suddenly in John Lewis 😟 I didn't feel sick or constipated but I think I was dehydrated and I was also hot as I was wearing my big winter coat and a mask. Also I'd be standing in one spot for ages as we were being helped by a sales assistant and she was explaining how to fit a car seat when it happened... Thankfully I was with my partner and just fell onto him, got checked out by the first aider and he said it could be low blood pressure, dehydration and just being too hot. Got to be so careful!
