Boob pain in cold weather

Hi all I have found since being pregnant that if I go out in the cold even with a bra top jumper and coat, my boobs don’t feel cold to the touch but they are soo painful from my nipple inwards (I’m well endowed which doesn’t help) as soon as they warm back up I’m fine. Anyone else suffered from this or is it yet another reason to go to the doctors. Im not having a great first pregnancy I have HG, bouts of vertigo, constipation, a ruined pelvic floor and incontinence 😭

I have this. For some reason my left nipple is particularly bad! I think it's totally normal tbh :)

HW1989 · 26/02/2022 09:37

Yep, always get this, only when I’m cold or when I have put on one particular bra (which has now been discarded). It lasts maybe 10 mins or until I warm up/change out of said bra and my nipples go white.
Apparently it’s called nipple vasopasm. It seems it is common in breastfeeding but I can’t find much information on it whilst pregnant.

@HW1989 never looked at my nipple colour when they hurt I’ll have a look later

Knitted nipple warmers are the way to go!

Flowerbug1994 · 26/02/2022 14:43

I’ve had this 3 times now and it’s so so painful I was trying to explain it to my mum but she said she never had it but I was really in pain with it.

Barrawarra · 26/02/2022 14:48

Reynauds syndrom maybe?

Badnightguaranteed · 26/02/2022 14:49

I seem to remember it’s possible to get raynaud’s of the nipples in pregnancy?

Thunderface · 26/02/2022 14:54

It's Raynauds of the nipples! I had it. So painful. If I went from warm to cold bam - complete agony. I took to wearing a puffa gilet or body warmer to stay warm.
I used to resort to a quick heat up with the hairdryer when necessary.

I had my nipples pierced and had to remove both by about ten weeks as the cold bars made this pain horrendous. I was really sad to lose them :(

NewYearEveryYear · 26/02/2022 15:21

I had exactly the same when I was pregnant with DD. I had Raynaud's as a child. I hadn't clicked it could be nipple Raynaud's.

Starbeach · 26/02/2022 20:06

Thanks ladies next time I’m cold I’m going to check the colour of my nipples and as my mum is currently in full on knitting mode I’ll see about the nipple warmers 😂
