Stretch and Sweep Success Stories Please

Has anyone had success of going into labour naturally after a stretch and sweep?
I'm having one tomorrow at 37+1 as baby stopped growing at 34 weeks which was picked up earlier this week on a growth scan and also showing early signs of pre eclampsia and the placenta starting to fail.
If I dont go into labour they'll induce me at 38 weeks or if pre eclampsia gets worse they will induce me sooner.

Feel really nervous but excited to finally meet my baby.

I had one and went into labour 48 hours later. Hope that helps. Good luck!

I had one and went into labour a few hours later. 40+4

Good luck xx

I have 3 children. I had this procedure at least twice for each of them. It was a waste of time and I'm sure I would have had more success wafting a custard cream around my fandango.

Have sex. Much more effective in my experience.
Walking up hills and scrubbing floors also help but not as much as sex.

Yes, at 41+5, hurt like hell and clearly remember DH telling me if I just 'relaxed it might not hurt as much' 🙄

I had one and labour started within a few hours

Had one with DC2 at 40+4 and it didn't work (baby arrived at 41+3).

Had one with DC3 at 40+1 and delivered 14hrs later!

Best of luck x

I had one when I was a week over in my 2 pgs and delivered the next day both times. It didn’t hurt and both times apparently my cervix was already starting to dilate.

38 weeks ish ( in my defence it was a long time ago). Sweep about 3 pm on Thursday, labour started about three hours later. Baby born 1.15 pm Friday.

First attempt did nothing, but second did the trick!

In my opinion they don't work. If you take 100women who are 40weeks pregnant chances are loads would go into labour within 48hours of any given day anyway. People who say they work are probably a coincidence.

Worked for me... hurt like hell which I wasn't expecting.

24 hours later baby had arrived.

Good luck Daffodil

Didn’t work for me and I went on to be induced, just wanted to say the induction wasn’t anywhere near as awful as I feared (and didn’t go “to plan” but I still didn’t find it awful). So if it doesn’t work there are still positive stories out there! Best of luck Flowers

Thank you so much everyone! I'm not holding my breath that it will work as its very early to have one. Just hoping pre-eclampsia stays away.🤞

I had a stretch and sweep in my previous pregnancy also due to IUGR baby but was rushed into hospital 5-6 hours after my stretch and sweep with pre-eclampsia and induced straight away at 38 weeks so never knew it worked or helped at all. Baby was born 7 hours after induction started.

I'd like to go into labour naturally but fully aware this may not happen and will be induced again.

Worked for me at 39 weeks. It was uncomfortable and hurt though (the stretch and sweep)
