What is it? Clot from period

Hi, please can someone help and tell me what the clot might be. It’s day 2 of my period and I have been having bad cramps which I usually don’t get. I have passed pretty big clots and 2 grey tissue like clots (grey in colour and stretchy).
I took a pregnancy test around 2/3 weeks ago and it was negative.

Gynaecologist told me it’s a sign of anovulatory bleeding as a result of me being overweight and having too much oestrogen.
