Do you mean a bit of the baby? Like a foot or knee?

19annie86 · 01/02/2022 08:00

Yeah I'm guessing it's a foot or a head etc

Yeah it’s the baby! I get this a lot and OH and I play guess the body part but it’s very difficult to tell. I’m always mystified by how the midwife’s can work out the position of the baby just by feeling the bump.

I get this a lot! I never know if it's a head or bum!

Garman · 01/02/2022 11:38

Well, yes, it's obviously bits of the baby as it moves around, bum, feet, etc.

Could you count this as movements as opposed to kicks, currently trying to count movement

I used to enjoy tapping m my baby in my tummy....and sometimes she would tap back! Saw a very clear foot one time as she did a big roll over. Creepy if it wasn't me / my baby IYKWIM

Awwww I remember this Grin

I have a very vivid memory of sitting at my kitchen table talking to someone and DC1 keep sticking his foot out of the side of my bump and dragging it along.

I miss it Sad

Yes its movement. Any movement counts not just big kicks. Little squirmy wriggles count to as does a slow elbow moving across your stomach.

Aw that's reminded me of my dd pushing her little foot up against my hands on the top of my bump in the last few weeks of pregnancy. She did it a lot!

After she was born, I would hold her little foot in my hands and she'd do it then too!

I miss those days so much (she's 22!)

It sounds weird but sometimes just a part of my womb contracts and creates a weird lump. At the beginning of my pregnancy I was convinced it was the baby but now she is definitely head down and mainly stays in one position. I can feel her little feet, legs, elbow and so on. But bigger lumps turn out not to be her but I assume muscular contractions. One bit of my womb will feel rock hard and the rest softer. It's weird but the midwives are not impressed. They just say: a womb is a muscle- it contracts and relaxes.
