Hello I’m due next week and can go into labour any time from now, but one of my children have tested positive for COVID I’m starting to worry with me being 39 weeks pregnant and if the other children catch it will I be able
ConfusedTo go to hospital and will I have to birth alone?

You’ll definitely be able to birth in hospital! Whether alone or not I think that depends on your hospitals policy and also whether your birth partner also tests positive (if they are negative I can’t see why they can’t go with you?). I’d call where you are planning to give birth and ask them what their covid policy is to put your mind at rest. Good luck!

Thank you yes I’ll see what the policy is there fingers crossed we stay negative Smile

I can only speak for my health board but I managed to catch covid from my son at 40 weeks. Although I’m now technically out of isolation, as per the health board’s policy, I’m considered infectious until 10 days have passed. So that means room on my own on the ward and no visitors but I can have my birth partner once I’m in active labour. It’s incredibly boring though so take a tablet/books/magazines and snacks. Anything to stop you from going stir crazy.
