Can I really be pregnant this fast?

Hi all,

So last month I did a pregnancy test and it said positive, it was then followed by 4 negatives and a period. I think it was a chemical pregnancy.

Anyway, this month I've been trying again for a baby. In fact, I ordered those ovulation tests which flash when ovulating.

Well I had a smiley face flashing 5 days ago and I've been trying ever since. I took a pregnancy test today, and it says pregnant. Am I really pregnant? I mean it says so but I don't want to get false hopes again like last time.

I'm so shocked, I tested as I had a spare one, digital clear blue. I just am surprised to be pregnant so fast since the smiley flashing face? It's only been 5/6 days since flashing smiley.

Is it possible?

Could you have been pregnant when you took ovulation test? I don't think they can distinguish between ovulating and pregnancy? Congratulations btw

To be honest I'm not really sure. Last month it said pregnant on the clear blue test, and then I had 5 negatives, and then a period. So I think I had a chemical pregnancy. I have had sex every day since then, so perhaps? I'm honestly not sure. When I first got my ovulation tests, it was a clear circle for 4 days, none flashing smileys, then Monday last week (7 days ago) it had its first flashing smiley. And now today, it says pregnant in a pregnancy test

Yes, you could be pregnant. What happened in your previous cycle doesn't usually matter. I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks and got pregnant with my 3rd in the next cycle

I felt sick, just didn't feel right. It surpassed. Did a test because had one lying around. Then this

It was definitely a full on period, was same heaviness as normal, and inplant was removed 3 month prior

Some women who have to undergo IVF, can have an positive test as early as 4 to 5 days after embryo transfer (I also had IVF but hate doing test so will wait till I absolutely have to). So strictly speaking it is possible for you to already have a really low level of HCG in your urine. But it's a bit odd that you had a flashing smile and a positive pregnancy test so soon after. It's also a bit strange that you are already feeling sick as that really wouldn't occur as early as 5 days (more like 5 weeks). With a pregnancy you can have a heavy bleed so it's not impossible that became pregnant earlier. Maybe you can ask your doctor for a pregnancy blood test or buy one privately (I once did one at home where you had to prick your finger and send it off). Good luck!

Someone was pointing out in another thread, doing a private dating scan is not too expensive. So it's something you could consider in like a month or so. Dating scans are good at about 6-8 weeks.

I bled with both of my pregnancies enough to make me think it was my period before I got the BFP. To the point where i wasnt actually sure how far along I was with DS1. I also got my very first BFP for DS2 on a OPK!

I would go to doctors and ask for advice. I had to have a scan and my stomach prodded with DS1 to work out how far along I was.

I felt sick at 5/6 dpi and knew I was pregnant, didn’t get a positive until 9dpo. So it is absolutely possible to be feeling sick so early. I also had a positive opk and that’s why I did a pregnancy test. Good luck!
