How soon after your waters breaking did labour happen?

I’m 37+0 today and woke up this morning to my waters leaking. Went in to be checked early this afternoon and all seems fine… but I haven’t gone into labour! They’ve said to go back this evening at 11pm if nothing has happened for them to start the induction process.

What were your experiences of labour starting following rupture of membranes? This is my 3rd, but with my first my waters broke at 34 weeks and I didn’t go into labour until I was induced at 36 weeks! So I’m not feeling a huge amount of faith in my body to crack on with things 😅

Immediately with my twins. Waters broke and contractions started immediately after.

7.5 weeks

(Long and boring weeks on bed-rest)

Waters broke 10am on Friday and I was induced on drip at midnight on Saturday. Baby arrives 5.57pm on Sunday 🙉

Didn't. Waters went on a Tuesday. Had to be induced via drip 24 hours later. Was not pleasant. I hope you start contracting rather than being put on the drip - it was hellish!

Mine was instant. Woke up needing the toilet. Walked to bathroom and whoosh! Then contractions started. Took about 11 hours from waters breaking to delivery.

My Labour never did so was induced. Was induced rather late though so ended up with sepsis. Ask to be induced ASAP
