3+ on digital but I'm only 4 weeks 3 days...

I'm a bit confused, I got a positive test last week and got 1-2 on a digital, took another digital on Tuesday and got 2-3 weeks but I've just taken the last one and it's 3+. I'm a bit confused because I'm only 4 weeks 3 days, I know exactly when I ovulated and I felt implantation
so I don't know why I seem to be a bit ahead of where I should be?

I was pregnant with twins last year but lost them at 10 weeks with a MMC. I know it sounds awful but I'm really hoping it's not a twin pregnancy, going through the loss last year was truly awful but I think that may explain why I'm already showing as 3+? 🤔 I am taking Cyclogest pessaries but I doubt that will have any effect on the reading?

Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Photos for reference. Top one is an opk, middle one is an frer and bottom one is the clearblue digital.

The dating on those are not reliable at all. I had the same thing and it's definitely just the one baby in there. I took it as a sign of strong hcg 😊

Sorry for your loss x

SoOverThisCrap · 20/01/2022 11:22

Thank you @Teaandcrumpets95 I'm hoping it's just a high level of HCG 😊

I've just taken the last one and it's 3+. I'm a bit confused because I'm only 4 weeks 3 days

Isn't 4 weeks over 3 and thus 3+...?

SoOverThisCrap · 20/01/2022 11:25

@SoupDragon nope, over 5 weeks is 3+, according to the leaflet...

Carebear99 · 20/01/2022 11:53

I tested 3+ weeks also last Monday but according to 2 subsequent scans I was only 4w 5d at that point. Also, my hcg last Tues was high of 8850. Just one baby

SoOverThisCrap · 20/01/2022 12:09

@Carebear99 congratulations on your pregnancy! It's good to know that sometimes HCG can just be high. I had a chemical pregnancy in October last year and I never got to 3+ so this time around to get it so early on made me freak out! How did you get your HCG tested, a blood test at the doctors I assume?

Carebear99 · 20/01/2022 12:14

@SoOverThisCrap congratulations too. I had a blood test to confirm at I'm 39 with endometriosis and pcos, very very unexpected pregnancy. I was last pregnant in 2001.... my daughter will be 21 this year

SoOverThisCrap · 20/01/2022 12:18

@Carebear99 I've just turned 41 and I have a DD who's 5. The hospital just called to say they've booked me in for a scan on 7th February which will put me at 6w 6 days.

SoOverThisCrap · 20/01/2022 12:20

@Carebear99 I also had an endometriosis 7.5cm ovarian cyst removed in October 2020 and they also removed some pockets of endometriosis from the back of my womb. After easily falling pregnant with my DD I had no idea it would now be so hard...

@SoOverThisCrap this is my first known pregnancy in 21 years! I only started naturally having periods again last year. I just thought Number 2 was never going to happen which I sadly accepted

SoOverThisCrap · 20/01/2022 12:27

@Carebear99 it's crazy isn't it? I guess we never know what is going on with our bodies. It must have been a shock when you found out you were pregnant! How many weeks are you?

Carebear99 · 20/01/2022 12:42

@SoOverThisCrap I'm now 6w 1d. I've had 2 scans and I'm going for a private scan on Saturday just to check everything is OK. I'm very anxious.

I've also been told that early scans saying can be out, as I thought I was a little further on them again I had a lot of pains around 20 Dec onwards so that make sense that I was ovulating and then implantation.

I hope we both have successful pregnancies x

SoOverThisCrap · 20/01/2022 12:45

@Carebear99 thank you, I hope we do too. I hope your scan goes well. I completely understand about feeling anxious, I'm exactly the same and mine isn't for another 2 and a half weeks 😂

That first response is super positive for 4+3 (17DPO?).

I think some people do just have different levels of HCG, I took ages to get a dye stealer, some people don't ever get one and some get it a lot earlier. Only a scan will be able to confirm if it's twins or you are further along.

I took cyclogest and I don't remember it having any sort of effect on the tests, although, now I think about it, the pregnancy I took it with was the only time I got a dye stealer so perhaps it does.

Congratulations and I hope the scan goes well Thanks

Pamparam · 20/01/2022 14:01

I had a 17dpo dye stealer (and fwiw am also ‘ancient’ 😉) and only one in there thankfully!

SoOverThisCrap · 21/01/2022 13:03

@czycoup @Pamparam

My last period was 21st December and I got a positive opk on cd9 and felt ovulation on cd10 (I feel it every month)
I then felt implantation at 5dpo (I know it's early, it was a shooting pain at the back on my uterus and it's the same pain I had when I became pregnant with my chemical pregnancy)

I got my positive test at 10dpo and today im 22dpo.... two of my three apps are putting me at 4 weeks 3 days today and the other app is putting me at 4 weeks 4 days today.

It could well be twins again sorry OP if you have a history of naturally conceived twins - your line is darker than mine with my twins and I didn't get a 3+ until 5 weeks exactly

They are more accurate than people think - due to IVF / history of miscarriage I had blood tests along side a lot of clearblue digital with weeks tests and they were accurate to my blood hcg level

SoOverThisCrap · 21/01/2022 14:04

@bonetiredwithtwins to be honest that is my gut feeling. The twins I lost were conceived naturally and I guess age can play a part in having twins?
I'm not going to panic about it, what will be will be. I've had 3 pregnancy losses in total since I had my DD so I'm just taking it day by day. Hopefully I'll get to 7th feb and the early scan will be ok and just continue take it day by day...

I felt pretty rough this morning with morning sickness as well, and I know that the lines on my opk and frer are huge dye stealers...

I read about one lady getting a 2-3 and a 3+ with the same sample of urine. All you can say for certain is that you are pregnant. Congratulations!

IsabelHerna · 22/01/2022 10:15

Congratulations! These things are not reliable at all!

SoOverThisCrap · 22/01/2022 14:02

Thss as no you @IsabelHerna @Tempusfudgeit 😊

Hi,

I am in the exact same situation as you. I got a 3+ on clearblue at only 4w3d and I am also quite certain of my dates. Do you have any update of how everything went for you? I hope you have a baby in your arms now x

NairobiGal · 04/11/2022 17:02

I tested 2 weeks when I was 6 weeks. Thought I was having a miscarriage as also had bleeding but all was well. I doubt they are 100% accurate.
