Hey. I was planning on having my fave cheesy pasta ready meal for dinner. But having read the label it says it contains burrata and fontal cheese. I'm worried about the burrata as some sources say it is unpasteurised. It will be cooked until hot so I'm not sure whether to have it or not.

If it’s cooked it’s fine according the nhs guidelines I believe

Everything cooked is fine.. pasteurised = cooked

dementedpixie · 12/01/2022 15:23

Of course it's fine
You are cooking it so even if it started out unpasteurised it won't be by the time it is heated.

If it's cooked to piping hot it'll be fine. Enjoy!

Unpasteurised cheese is fine to eat if cooked as the heat from cooking kills any potential listeria

In early pregnancy (before I knew) I ate a raw burrata and unpasteurised goats cheese at an Ottolenghi restaurant. I have zero regrets but probably would've chosen a different dish had I known about pregnancy
