Can anyone share their experience of having Covid whilst pregnant. I'm really scared.

I've had the booster 14 weeks ago.

How are you feeling? It’s worrying but if you’re fully vaccinated there’s an overwhelming likelihood it will be mild.

I had it at 21 weeks. I’d had my booster but only a few days beforehand so not enough time to get much benefit from it. I’ve had much, much worse colds. It was very mild. I had a sore throat, headache and stuffy nose. I was a little more tired than usual for about 3 days, then completely back to normal.

The fact you're fully vaccinated is really reassuring so please try not to worry. The poor outcomes we see in maternity are with unvaccinated women. You're also not quite in your third trimester so that's another good thing. Please just look after yourself, lots of water, paracetamol and rest. If you have any concerns with yourself or baby please still call your maternity unit as they'll have a special covid area to see you in. Wishing you a quick recovery! Thanks

Oh and I'm sure you have already but do let your midwifery team know - in my trust we do a consultant referral for anyone who's had covid whilst pregnant but that will differ between trusts.

I’m just recovering from covid late in third trimester. It wasn’t too bad, I just spent a lot of time sleeping it off.

The midwives weren’t at all concerned (and actually pushed back my appointments by nearly 2 weeks, including a scan).

Hi I tested positive for Covid 2 days before Christmas at 24 weeks pregnant & I was petrified! I felt unwell the first 2 days, but then I felt much better. I phoned my midwife team after 8 days when I got my first negative lateral flow and they agreed to see me and do a quick heartbeat check for reassurance. But if at any point you have worries about your baby, then still call them.

Just to note, I have only had 1 Covid jab before I got pregnant

I hope you aren’t feeling to poorly x

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling ok. Like flu really. Sore throat. Sneezing and coughing. Very tired and headaches.

Thankfully my toddler and partner have tested negative so I think the hardest bit will be isolating from them.

I spoke to my midwife and she gave me basic advice. But she's rearranged my scan on Friday to the end of the day so I'll still get my growth scan.
This pregnancy has not been straight forward. I've got gestational diabetes and my sugar has been nuts today. And potential placental insufficiency hence the growth scan. Fingers crossed my little lady stays put for at least 12 more weeks
