Pelvic Floor - Covid coughing

Hi everyone! I had our little boy 2.3yrs ago and I'm currently 20wks pregnant with No2. I've been having a really bad Covid cough (finished isolation on Friday but still coughing) and I've been getting wee leaks (I presume it's wee!) because of the coughing fits being so strong. I've never had this problem before, and when I was 9mpp after my son I saw a specialist physio (I thought I had diestasis recti but I didn't) who graded my pelvic floor strength 4/5. She said only Olympic athletes get grade 5, basically and it's very rare.

Do you think my current pregnancy has just put extra pressure on the pelvic floor (plus the horrible Covid cough), or could it have weirdly got weaker over time? I've only been managing 1 session of kegels a day the past few weeks. I'm definitely more active in general than when I had my 10 physio sessions. Is it the beginning of the end for my pelvic floor or can I save it? 😆

@Laureatus I had similar over Christmas (just a cold/cough and not Covid) but every time I had a coughing fit, I would wee. It was sometimes minor but most of the time a lot!

I'm 22 weeks pregnant and have an 18 month old son! Definitely do think my pelvic floor is weak 🥴 Going to up the exercises during this pregnancy.

Just wanted to say you aren't alone and I've been there!! Hope you feel better soon 🥰
