Due next May and am completely out of the loop when it comes to the best pushchair/prams. I'm not someone who wants a fancy brand to impress others but it does need to be reliable, sturdy and easy to fold. Would quite like one that can change from a pram to a pushchair. Won't be doing any crazy terrain, just pavement walks!

Would be really grateful for some good recommendations please.

Measure up the folded dimensions of your pram and your boot! Ours is small and a lot of pushchairs and travel systems take up a huge amount of space when folded!

We have an iCandy Strawberry which has been brilliant. They're discontinued now but I know a few people with iCandy prams who have all loved them. My son's 3 and it's still in great condition, very sturdy and could easily be used for a second baby. They are a bit bulky but that means you have plenty of storage underneath (was important to me as I didn't drive when my son was born) and it just feels very strong and safe.

I really think you need to try a few if you possibly can. Having tried friends' prams I know there are some I loved the look of but hated pushing.

Seriously just get the lightest one possible that is easiest to fold up and smallest when folded.

I made the mistake of getting a "sturdy" Silver Cross Pioneer for DC1. Was a pain in the arse to lug in and out of the car boot. Traded it in for something much lighter for DC2.

Babyjogger city mini GT

One hand fold, massive canopy so no need for muslins in the sun. We bought the separate deluxe carrycot which has sun/ wind and insect shades. Really clever.

Used for 2 kids till 3.5 years when other friends kids didn’t fit in their buggies comfortably.

Can’t believe how cheap it is, considering it’s so popular with Hollywood A Listers.

I used joie litetrax from when baby could go in seat rather than carrycot. Before that had second hand oyster 2. Both were great but oyster 2 quite big when folded. If doing again would get the litetrax and buy carrycot for it.

Now i have a special needs bug ormesa - omg it weighs a tonne Shock

Another positive vote re Online4Baby. However, you need to be mindful of the returns policy to make sure you're not stuck with returning a pram or a travel system to an online store if something is wrong. JL wins for me every time, they had on offer few days ago a £75 voucher if you spend £750 on baby stuff. Also used to give a discount after booking a nursery appointment with them (which I recommend you do anyway).

I've been looking at the Mama's and Papa's Flip XT2 on Online4baby. I wish there were more colour options but I'm guessing it's because it's an older model. I haven't seen many that I really love.

Did/does anyone use the carrycot attachment much? My husband said they didn't use it at all with DSS, but that may be because they didn't live it the sort of area you'd just pop out for a little walk with a baby, very hilly and awkward position etc. It does come with most travel system bundles though unless you go for the more basic package, but then you just have to buy a car seat on top so it may just be worth getting the bigger bundle. So much to think about haha!

I got this travel system for isofix and newborn car seat. Now it was over £1000 then my dad shopped around and got it half price £550 it has come with loads of extras. I like how it goes into a pram so I can get use out of it xxxx
