Has my maternity pay been approved?

I'm going to sound really dull asking this question, but I'm a bit confused. I took my MAT B1 form into work after I got it at my 20 weeks scan. I've just got it sent back to me and it's been signed and dated. Does this mean my maternity pay has been approved?

And where do I go from here when it comes to the stage of receiving the pay when I go on maternity leave? My work aren't the greatest at communication. They haven't asked when I would like to take my leave, so I'm not sure what happens there either

Literally no idea why you are asking here. How are we meant to know the answer to that? Every single company has their own personal procedures on approving maternity pay whether that's enhanced or statutory.

Ring work on Tuesday and ask them.

Best thing you can do is email your HR department to ask them to clarify and also email you Line manager or equivalent with HR CC’d in and state what date you plan to start your maternity leave.

Maybe set out in writing when you would like your leave to start as you need to tell them by the time you're 25 weeks pregnant.

They will then write back to you setting out your leave dates and pay amount

It's my first rodeo, and all new to me. So all of what you've just said I didn't know. But thank you :)

Normally if you are not eligible for SMP work then give you the form back so you can then use the form to claim maternity allowance.

But I would speak to them if they gave you it without saying anything as if your not eligible they must give you a smp1 form saying why. You also need to put in writting your expected leave and return date
