Second pregnancy, no sickness? Bad sign?

I had HG in my first pregnancy and was very, very unwell.

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant with my second and apart from painful boobs and obviously the positive tests I literally wouldn't know. No sickness or nausea at all.

Is this a bad sign? I'm wondering if I need an early viability scan privately as another 6 weeks uncertainty fills me with dread!

I could have written this but I am 7 weeks. Second baby and I’m really thinking there’s something wrong as I don’t have any symptoms. Problem is I can’t remember when they started with my first 🙈
Hopefully for both of us we are just lucky so far!

I didn’t have morning I sickness with either of my pregnancies
Had the achey boobs , exhaustion and metallic taste in mouth , but no sickness at all

I had all the symptoms in my first pregnancy and felt sick pretty much constantly for the first 12 weeks. This time around, almost no nausea and no other symptoms at all - currently 30 weeks and baby is absolutely fine. It just means hormone levels are slightly different I think but it’s not necessarily a bad sign.

Still nothing! Apart from sore boobs intermittently there are zero signs I'm pregnant, I'm wiped out but I have covid so explains that. Just such a stark difference from my first pregnancy, I can't help but worry.

With my first I was sick all day every day for 22 weeks. With #2 I had morning sickness and generally ok from 16 weeks, with #3 I had 5 weeks of nausea from 10 weeks. All happy and healthy.

Whilst a second HG pregnancy is the common thing, there are women who just don’t get it the second time - my mum was one of them, 40 weeks of HG with her first and none with her second. Worry is a horrible thing in the first 12 weeks though, maybe just go for an early scan to put your mind at rest x

Theresamagicalplace · 31/12/2021 19:20

I'm in the exact same position! Zero symptoms apart from sore boobs. And I had awful sickness almost immediately in my first pregnancy. It's almost like you're waiting for something bad to happen isn't it. I'm planning an early scan at about 8 or 9 weeks just to relax myself a bit, no advice just solidarity!

Enjoy. I never had morning sickness and my dd is very healthy

RedCandyApple · 31/12/2021 19:28

I have had 4 children, never had morning sickness with any of them

Notthissticky · 31/12/2021 19:30

I had nausea and occasional vomiting all the way through with my first, and a grand total of one day with my second. Both absolutely fine 🤷‍♀️

Hyppogriff · 31/12/2021 19:34

Doesn’t mean anything at all. try not to read into it.
Congrats

I had nothing with my first and then hg with my second (from 4 weeks to 20 weeks) both lovely healthy children.

Newmum110 · 31/12/2021 19:55

Wouldn't even have known I was pregnant for the first, sick every day for entire pregnancy for second. Two perfectly healthy boys, completely the luck of the draw, hope that your pregnancy is an easy one!!!!!

DoG87 · 31/12/2021 19:57

I didn’t have any sickness around 6 weeks and was concerned then it came into force a few weeks later and didn’t go until about 20 weeks. I’m 34 weeks on Tuesday and I was sick today while brushing my teeth.

ivfbabymomma1 · 31/12/2021 21:14

I wasn't sick once or even felt it during my pregnancy to my Heathy baby boy! I had a lot of food I went off though!!

SamanthaVimes · 31/12/2021 21:43

I’m in a similar boat. Way less symptoms with this pregnancy (my second) we had a scan at 9 weeks and had a heartbeat then and have our nhs dating scan on Sunday so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my body is just better at being pregnant now it’s done it once before!
