Can partners come to 12 week scan?

I was just talking to a friend and she said her partner was not allowed in to the 12 week scan.

She's in a different part of the country, so I'm not sure if it's the same in Scotland.

Does anyone know? I can't seem to find any up to date info online.

We're in forth valley area and my husbands been present for all my scans and midwife appointments. It should say on your appointment letter if you can't bring anyone. Ours said 1 adult only

It will depend on your hospital I expect but my OH has been to all of my scans (last one was Tuesday) - we are NHS Grampian. I guess if there’s a particular outbreak somewhere a hospital may introduce restrictions but there is no Scotland wide prohibition on partners attending (at least there wasn’t on Tuesday and I haven’t seen anything on the news to that effect)

Glasgow health board here and partner could come to scan but not my initial booking appointment.

I didn't actually get a letter, it was just arranged at my booking appt.

Depends on trust and policies are changing as we speak in some due to Omicron. I'm in London and my hospital has just gone from fairly lax to strict rules overnight. That being said partners are allowed at the 12/20 week scans still.

I'm in Grampian and just had mine. My husband didn't come for childcare reasons but others were there with their partners.

At my hospital a support person is allowed but must have proof of a negative lateral flow test, someone was kicking off about it last week despite the fact that the pregnant woman was pretty far along and the policy has been in place for months.

Be prepared that it could change but hopefully you will both be able to attend.

I'm in Lothian. Allowed one person to attend scan. The booking appointment was for me only.
