Baby movement at 21 weeks

So I would say from 18 weeks I've felt flutters, they've got more stronger at periods and now I'm 21 weeks, but not felt anything major. Never feel movement in the day at work, I only feel it in the afternoon/evening when laying down. Today I've felt nothing and I can go days where I feel nothing. I just don't know what's normal and what isn't. I know you shouldn't worry until 24 weeks. My placenta is also posterior

Also just to add. I had my 20 weeks scan a week ago and everything was fine and normal

I'm in the exact same position as you op. 21 weeks on Wednesday. Felt flutters from 18 weeks. Still really only feeling flutters and more at night time when relaxing and occasional at work but I do have an office job (so sitting down) Had my scan last week and all looked healthy and well. I think it's quite normal!

So following for others experienced Smile

@WJK00 She's currently moving now I've typed this message😂 I've come to lay down on the bed after drinking some apple juice and I can feel her moving. Very very quick movements they are. But this is the first time she's moved today that I've felt.

Congratulations to you🥰

aww good!! It's such a bloody worrying time isn't it 🤣

No better feeling when they are wriggling around though even if they make you wait all day!! Congratulations to you Thanks

I’m in the same situation , although 26 weeks pregnant. My midwife said I shouldn’t expect to have patterns of movement until 28-30 weeks. I feel my baby most days, but not all. I’ve had 2 private scans and all is fine. I do have an anterior placenta though, which makes movement much less likely to be felt. Where is your placenta?

rainbowbaby5 · 20/12/2021 17:19

@WJK00 I am on edge almost daily. She is our much longer for baby. 4 miscarriages before we've got to this point so the worry is so intense. The first trimester I'm surprised I wasn't rocking in the corner leading up to my 12 weeks scan. A lot less anxious now, but I do have days where I'll be minding my own business and suddenly a thought will come into my head and then it's a snowball of worry from there

@Derbee I have a posterior placenta, I believe that's at the back and not the front?

Sorry to hear about your losses it definitely makes it that more worrying.
Ive had 2 losses this year so understand what you mean. I take every day as it comes and count it is a blessing. Smile

Girls I am 22 weeks, 23 on Wednesday and I still think my boy has quiet days and I end up worrying non stop til I can feel him again. Previously had a MMC in March so it’s hard. Hope you’re both ok 🤞🏻❤️ We just have to take each day as it comes xx

Honestly, I'm not 38 weeks and can only really say that I've reliably and certainly felt movement for the last... 5 weeks maybe? Until then, it was all a bit unreliable and a bit like "was that a kick?". It's so worrying, isn't it?

Good luck, and I hope you get some big kicks soon Smile

Dextersmumhasgotitgoingon · 20/12/2021 18:15

*I am, not I'm not!!!

When I've had scans the baby is always upside down. Her head down and legs tucked under her. Think the last scan I had where she was sitting nicely in a profile angle was my 15 weeks private scan. So I don't know if she's just ticked up and isn't stretching out to kick big. But then that also worries me, why is she curled up🙈

I didnt start to feel my little one move until 21/22 weeks and wasnt very often. Im now 28 weeks and she moves so much, mostly mornings, evenings after dinner & getting in bed. She has taken to kicking me in the bladder recently at the most awkward times.
