Chicken and fish 6 weeks pregnant

I know it's silly and I shouldnt be panicking.
Hi all, I'm 6 weeks pregnant and abit worried
My daughter had fish for dinner and I had chicken. She wouldn't eat a whole fish so I had half of it. After eating the fish and the chicken a thought came to mind that I shouldn't of had both together.
Would this affect anything with the pregnancy. Worried about cross contamination.
Please kind comments

It's absolutely fine as long as everything cooked properly Smile

Have a look at the nhs guidance online if you're worried - there are a lot of old wives tales etc about what you "can't" eat during pregnancy but the vast majority of food is perfectly safe Smile

whosaidtha · 13/12/2021 20:15

Why would it be a problem? I honestly don't understand.

DappledThings · 13/12/2021 21:32

There are some outlandish concerns about things eaten on this board every week bit this might be the oddest I've seen yet.

It's absolutely fine, and I'm intrigued as to what on earth you think would be an issue.

Garman · 13/12/2021 21:45

I think you need to read up on what cross contamination means.

dementedpixie · 13/12/2021 21:47

I really don't see what the issue would be
What sort of cross contamination could you have between chicken and fish?

ApolloandDaphne · 13/12/2021 21:51

That is so not what cross contamination means.

Wolfiefan · 13/12/2021 21:52

Er what?

TwinklyBranch · 13/12/2021 22:01

You ate chicken and fish together?! 😱 It's 50/50 whether your baby will have feathers or scales.

NeedsCharging · 13/12/2021 22:06

Why would you think this would be a problem OP?

ApolloandDaphne · 13/12/2021 22:07

I've had a quick look at your posting history and I rather suspect you are over anxious. This is not going to be very helpful to you and your pregnancy is going to drive you mad if you don't go and seek help for this.

It’s totally fine. Cross contamination is more about how you handle/prepare/store raw foods. So if you put raw chicken on a chopping board and then put some cooked food on the chopping board you are contaminating the cooked food with the raw chicken bacteria.

But there is absolutely no reason whatsoever why anyone (pregnant or otherwise) can’t eat chicken and fish together.
