Looking for any help/advice. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and have chicken pox for the first time in my life. I called my GP today to see if I have been vaccinated to which they explained there isn't a vaccine for chicken pox however I have had all child hood immunisations. I am worried sick that my baby might get congenital varicella syndrome or be harmed in anyway and the wait for my midwife appointment is quite a while away. Has anyone experienced this and went on to have a healthy baby anything at all to help put my mind at ease. I have read the last trimester is dangerous then read the first between 8-16 weeks I don't know what to believe Sad

There is a vaccine for chicken pox but it would have to be paid for

Would this help at this point if I have already had the virus at this point

www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/pregnancy/how-is-chickenpox-treated-during-pregnancy/ did the GP not advise you further?

Just to take medication and speak to midwife but midwives aren't saying much
