Hospital bag for labour

What sort of underwear would people recommend for taking in hospital, I mean like pants, some people get disposable ones, also where did you get your nightdress to take with you

I took M&S high waisted comfy cotton knickers for post labour.
I also didn't take a nightie, I had maternity pyjamas with long bottoms as well a pair of comfy maternity shorts with a vest top.

Enormous knickers! A couple of sizes bigger than your usual so that they are comfy and loose, and can fit the maternity pads in comfortably.

I got some button down nighties from primark. I also bought a black towel and flannel from there too for having a shower. Oh and some cheap flip flops for the showers 🤮

I took the m&s ones too a couple of sizes up from my usual size. They're something like £6 for 5.

Nightie was a challenge. In the end I just took some XL men's t-shirts. Tbh I had an idea a button up nightie would be good for skin to skin and feeding. But basically all sense of modesty went out the window anyway and I just had my boobs out about 18h a day. So I wouldn't worry too much about what to wear.

The best thing I got was a kind of squirty bottle for rinsing after going to the loo/changing maternity pads. Helped me feel much fresher, and was gentle on stitches. I was in for a week, but also used it at home.

Agree with other posters, usually size 12, bought a pack of size 16 full briefs (5-6 in a pack I think) from George Asda for when having baby in a few weeks time.

M&S full briefs a size bigger than normal to accomodate maternity pads.
I didnt have a nightie but maternity PJ's (one set with long trousers and ine set with shorts). I didnt wear them though as i had a urinary catheter (unrxpected) and ended up in a hospital gown which was easier anyway.

Yep same as others loads of packs of M&S full brief knickers a few sizes larger than normal. Extra doing for maternity pads and can go over your belly to hold it in place making you feel somewhat normal - woop.

I bought a couple of nighties from Amazon that had poppers down the front for easy boob access. Search maternity nightdress for hospital.
Try to get everything in cotton. You will be so sweaty for weeks after giving birth

I got a cheap pack of Primark full briefs in a couple of sizes too large for me. For the birth I bought a xxxl mens t shirt from Primark that was like a massive nightie on me (didn't actually get round to wearing it as labour progressed so quickly). For the post natal ward I also packed a couple pairs of normal Primark pjs in a couple sizes too large for me for comfort. I was only in hospital for one night as DD needed 12 hours observations or we would've been home within three hours of her birth so I didn't end up using much from my bag at all.
