Hi girls, i've been told yesterday in a London hospital that i'm expecting a boy. It was my 20 Weeks scan. Even thou the sonographer pointed the sex of the baby, i don't know why i m still afraid to buy everything he needs. From your recently experiences, how accurate are these NHS scans? i can post the photos if i m allowed. Thank you so much in advance ❤️

Has something happened to make you mistrust the NHS equipment so much?

If you are not happy with this, could you pay for a private scan to confirm?

Generally a boy is obvious. If you get told its a girl it could be a boy.

What a newborn needs doesn't depend on their sex. I'm sure they're right, but it doesn't need to be an issue either way.

Ypu can buy the things he needs in neutral/ unisex colours if you don’t want to risk it being wrong. The basics you need for a newborn are the same whether you have a boy or a girl.

I felt a little bit like that when I found out the sex of my baby. I think it was because I was so pleased to be having a baby and so excited that I hardly allowed myself to believe it was true.

I didn't know the sex of either of my babies before they were born. Didn't stop me buying everything they needed.

Just buy lots of neutral and unisex clothes and things? Means that if you plan on having another baby in the future you have unisex baby stuff for them aswell?

We wanted to find out, I get alot of scans due to high risk pregnancy and every scan I've had they were in awkward position or playing with chord between their legs! I'm now 29 weeks and just bought all unisex stuff. I have a scan on Tuesday and I'm not even going to bother to ask now 😂! Will be a lovely surprise when they are born.
