Baby number two and I’m 8 weeks, the sickness has ramped up today and I don’t know how I’m going to work next week. I’m trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel - When did your morning sickness ease? I can’t remember with my first.

Xxx

I’m also so fatigued, which I do remember from last time, but now I’ve also got insomnia with a toddler who doesn’t sleep through the night 😅 sorry now I’m just having a moan 🤣

DD1, around 18 weeks and then returned at 34 weeks.

With DD2, it didn't stop, so in the end I had to take anti sickness medication as it was unmanageable being sick most of the day and having toddler DD1 to look after.

I hope you feel better soon.

Oh no you poor thing, awful. Which medication did you take? Did it help?

I took Cyclizine, and yes it definitely helped.

I was initially hesitant to take it, but I'm glad I did.

NamiSwan · 05/12/2021 12:55

Between 16-18 weeks with all three of mine 😔

wincarwoo · 05/12/2021 12:57

12 weeks for my two

Somerandomgirl · 05/12/2021 12:59

22+... and still have it at times but its bearable when not 24/7

Flutterby8 · 05/12/2021 13:00

I had HG and started meds (prochloraperazine) at 11 weeks whichbintook until the end of pregnancy.
Nausea and vomiting eased from 20 something weeks but came back worse in the 3rd trimester.
The only thing that cured it was giving birth!

Justgamboling · 05/12/2021 13:08

I have HG, I'm 15 weeks and only the last 3 days have I stopped being sick 20+ times a day.

I was on 3 types of medication but they didn't work because I was throwing up too often for them to take effect.

Hopefully the sickness has come to an end

Gosh bless you all, such a long time to be so sick ❤️❤️❤️

Cyclizine only worked successfully for about 4 days for me. I do have HG though so maybe that's why, but if it does wear off do contact GP again as there are 3-4 medications you can try and also take together/ if needed

Fet2021duejuly2022 · 05/12/2021 14:01

@Justgamboling thanks for the tip. I don’t have it as bad as you so perhaps it might work but good to know there’s other options. Hope you feel better soon xx

Mine didn't stop until about 30 weeks with both pregnancies.

I had to take cyclizine to stop it because it was so debilitating I couldn't work or function properly. If I forgot to take it or tried to come off then it the sickness would come back.

Fet2021duejuly2022 · 05/12/2021 14:05

@lliitttlepiinkhouse oh no that’s awful I’m sorry to hear that. Did the drugs work well otherwise?

Same.

I remember vomiting into a hedge on the early morning walk from the railway station to my office. It was springtime and I felt awful heaving onto the blossoms.

Yebbie · 05/12/2021 14:12

Until I started on Cyclizine! Well, until I could keep it down long enough to take effect. I had such bad HG I genuinely considered aborting a much, much wanted baby just to make it stop.

Fet2021duejuly2022 · 05/12/2021 14:14

@SpindlesWinterWhorl oh no 🙈 that’s awful! You’ve reminded me of a memory from my first pregnancy. I threw up on my friends neighbours driveway (was visiting friend for a birthday party). It was so embarrassing having to explain to everyone and knock on with a bucket of water 🙈

@Yebbie that’s horrific bless you ❤️

For me the morning sickness started to improve after about 16 weeks - that was when the vomiting became less frequent and I finally stopped losing weight. By about 20 weeks it was just mild nausea. The queasiness didn’t go away completely until the baby was born.

Derbee · 05/12/2021 15:22

20 weeks. Admitted to hospital for IV fluids and anti sickness medication at 8 weeks. Then took cyclizine 3x daily until 20 weeks.

justtryingtogeton · 05/12/2021 15:26

The day after I gave birth.

Cyclizine and ranitidine got me through

squirrelnutkins1 · 05/12/2021 15:35

About 19 weeks x

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 05/12/2021 16:30

Ds1 - 16 weeks
Ds2 - 22 weeks
DD1 - 18 weeks

I’m nearly 19 weeks with DD1 and have been feeling so much better since 18 weeks. It feels amazing to be able to eat again 😂 it does sound like a long time but the ‘peak’ was about 11 weeks each time and the sickness has gradually decreased from there. Hope you feel better soon OP.
