Plus size Pregnancy clothing

Hi everyone

I'm usually a size 18/ 5'7 I had been losing weight with Slimming world when I found out I was pregnant! I am really struggling to find company's that sell plus size Pregnancy clothing! Most highstreet stores only go to a size 18 and I know as my pregnancy progresses i'll need to go a few sizes higher.

I've got some bits from Simply be and Curvissa but can anyone recommend anywhere else?

Thank you

You won't necessarily need to go bigger! As the maternity clothes leave room for your bump. I'm the same size and height as you and 18s have been fine Smile bought some nice things from Next who may go up to a 20.

I got all mine from Shein

I find that the “buy maternity clothes in the same size as pre-pregnancy” is unrealistic. Prob written by a man. It would only work if you’re one of lucky women whose body doesn’t change; most women will also gain some more fat. I was a 10-12 and have bought some maternity stuff in 16-18!

Got most of it from Seasalt who go up to a 28. Sainsburys maternity go up to a size 26. Impossible to find any of it in store but ordering online and then collecting and returning to store is v easy.

Thank you, that's helpful. I didn't think to look at sainsburys so I'll take a look.

I've just been busy SHEIN clothing in the plus size category. I did try the maternity range but ended up returning it all.

The plus size range has some absolutely lovely things, and they're cheap! Returns are pretty easy too.

I've been buying a size 24 for everything, which is a couple sizes larger than pre pregnancy, and it's been perfect so far 😊

Oh really I thought I'd have to always size up! This gives me some hope then as so far I feel really miserable about not being able to find much! It's really opened my eyes as to how little there is on the highstreet for plus sizes.

Thank you so much, I'll take a look at Shein, I've steered clear of it so far assuming it's not good stuff but this sounds like I need to give it a chance! Also it's so nice to hear from another plus size mummy to be!

I'm usually a 14/16 and haven't had to size up much for maternity clothes at all if I buy actual maternity wear. Sizing up in non-maternity brands has been very variable though since the arrival of the bump mid second trimester - everything from a size 18 jacket (charity shop) through to a 22/24 nightie (Asda). Asda have some great nightwear and undies.

I couldn't find nice t-shirts - all the ones I saw were too clingy for my tastes. So, I just got men's ones in xxl, stuck a belt on top and have been steadily letting it out. Now (29 weeks) they still fit me just fine without the clinginess of the women's ones that were available.

I got my maternity clothes from yours.

Chely · 28/11/2021 23:09

I was a size 16 at the start of my last pregnancies, I have big babies so bought size 18 maternity wear from new look and they did well. Baby was 10lb 15oz so I had a good size bump on me.

Chely · 28/11/2021 23:10

Oh and I'm 5ft 8 and the leggings length were pretty good.

Fleur405 · 28/11/2021 23:21

H&M and M&S both have quite wide ranges of sizes in the maternity lines. most maternity clothes tend to expand at the waist and/or have a high waist so I was able to wear the same maternity clothes through my whole pregnancy.

Jonesy88 · 28/11/2021 23:21

I’ve bought some nice basics from the new look maternity range - I think some stuff goes up to a 26.

Sleepyquest · 29/11/2021 10:00

Oh yes I've bought bits from SHEIN too and ASOS!
Hope you find some bits :)

thecapitalsunited · 29/11/2021 10:07

I’m a size 22 and bought a lot of basics from H&M. Seems to wash and wear well. I’ve bought in the same size I was prepregnancy and it all fits fine but I haven’t put on any weight at all so I’m probably slimmer than I was prepregnancy.

Bells3032 · 29/11/2021 10:07

I got some nice stuff from bon prix. there's not a huge amount about there I am afraid.

FoxtrotSkarloey · 29/11/2021 10:11

I put on loads of weight but didn't really size up. As with non-maternity clothes, some things fit and some don't.

It's hard to find much in stores, so I ordered online and send lots back. I didn't want to spend much as of course don't wear them for long in the grand scheme so most of mine were from H&M and George, with some work stuff from New Look. I ended up with jeans from JoJo Maman - not cheap but the only ones which fitted.
