Fears of incompetent cervix

Does anyone know how quickly things can change.

I've been so scared that my cervix will fail throughout this pregnancy. Just the fear that my body will let this baby down.

I have never managed to carry to 2nd trimester before so I don't know what is normal in terms of sensations/ how my bump feels heavy.

My cervix measured 35mm 3 weeks ago at 19 weeks. Could it change so quickly that it is going to fail now?

I've had a leetz procedure before plus a D&C.

I have a scan again on Monday so I'll ask for it yo be measured. But I don't know why I feel so convinced things will go wrong that I'm scared to move this weekend.

Have you got any reason to think your cervix might fail? Just wondering what’s at the root of the anxiety? I am really sorry to hear you have not carried to the second trimester before - I can see why the previous miscarriage/s would make you feel this way. I also had 2 x D&C but everything seems fine at the minute. I am 22 weeks currently. The more weeks that pass the less anxious I am as I can see the bump growing. Having said that there is always a moment every week or two where I will have a panic that something is wrong. Try to be kind to yourself and trust in your body doing it’s thing! I am sure it will be fine.

I can understand your anxiety. Incompetent cervix is widely minimised in my experience. Chances are that everything will be fine… until it’s not. I had a loss at 21+3 with no warning, I hadn’t had any cervical procedures or previous trauma so had never heard of incompetent cervix until it was too late.

Hope all is well with the scan OP.
