around 10-20% of women get no symptoms in pregnancy. i didn't get anything at all til 7 weeks to the point i didn't even realise i was pregnant til then. keep calm.

If you're worried then look into private scans (if you can afford them)

SophieHatterPendragon · 26/11/2021 10:47

All 3 of my successful pregnancies I had zero symptoms. The only ones I had any sickness or any other symptoms ended in miscarriages. Everyone’s bodies are different it’s not necessarily a sign of how the pregnancy will progress

SGChome20 · 26/11/2021 10:51

Have you never had symptoms?

You could pay for a private scan if that would help your anxiety. I did and it did help me a lot but I know it’s not for everyone.

JAR1981 · 26/11/2021 11:10

I’m 13 weeks tomorrow and have had very few symptoms. Like you I was constantly hungry between about 6-11 weeks. I had bad indigestion every afternoon/evening from 6-8 weeks. I know it’s hard but everyone is different and a lack of nausea and sickness is more common than we expect. I had private scans every 2 weeks to keep me going.

S0987 · 06/12/2021 14:13

Thanks so much for your posts. I genuinely am considering getting 2 weekly scans for reassurance but won't the sonographers think I'm nuts?! I hate all of this. I'm now 9 weeks today and still nothing :( :(

I didn't have anything until about 10 weeks. Went for private scan at 8 weeks and was genuinely shocked to see a little baby in there fluttering away. I was convinced it wasn't real. Got very very mild nausea at 10 weeks and not a lot more until maybe 14 weeks when the vomiting started. It's terrifying and people will tell you "you're so lucky!" but it doesn't feel like it when the alternative to being sick all the time is worrying that your losing your baby.

Best piece of advice I can give for any pregnancy, especially early on: step away from Google. It is not your friend. It will mess with you head. I stopped pretty early on and my whole pregnancy experience changed 100% for the better.

Good luck.

Hey @S0987 how are you getting on?

I'm 7 weeks today and I've pretty much only had tiredness so far. I've had 3 private scans but it only ever reassures me for like 24 hours. Today I have loads of energy and so a bit worried xx

Jtb5790 · 06/12/2021 16:05

My wife had this panic at week 6. Get down to window to the womb (or similar) and get a private scan for peace of mind x

Pixiedust138 · 07/12/2021 13:37

My symptoms didn't really start until week 9, that's when the hormones peak.

MangoM · 07/12/2021 13:42

Try not to worry, I had no symptoms (apart from an expanding belly) and was full of energy throughout my entire pregnancy first time round. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong.

Once you've had a scan and seen the little heartbeat, hopefully it'll put your mind at ease.

S0987 · 13/12/2021 21:26

Hi all,
Thanks for your replies.
Still no real symptoms I feel mostly normal and I'm technically 10 weeks today! It's just so strange. Even my slightly sore boobs are disappearing.....
I keep reading horror stories about missed miscarriages and people miscarrying like even in week 17. It's awful.
I keep thinking like surely in olden days when there were no machines and ultrasounds woman just had to trust their bodies and get on with it? Tbh if it were up to me I'd have a handheld ultrasound machine glued to me 24/7 for reassurance 😕

Hey @S0987 I'm 8 weeks today and still nothing much! My last scan was last Tuesday and I measured 2 days ahead so that's comforting.. well it was for like 24 hours! Next scan is this Friday and super nervous. Isn't it awful when you just don't feel like there's anything there?! Just got to hold onto the fact that it's progressed every scan I've had.
How about you? Have you had a scan yet? Xx

tilly2019 · 13/12/2021 22:04

Honestly stop worrying, it's positive! I had no symptoms with my first, I didn't even have any symptoms at all with my twins despite double hormones etc (they are due in a few weeks!)
Things will start to feel more real after your 12 weeks scan, I remember thinking I'd turn up to that scan and be told I'd dreamt it all lol.

LetsHearIt · 13/12/2021 22:09

I am 9 weeks pregnant with no symptoms. Apart from lower back ache. I've had 3 MC's before including a missed miscarriage which was horrendous.
This time I've panicked the whole way through. I've had 2 scans already which shows things are fine. But I still have another booked in for just over a weeks time. It only reassures me for a short amount of time but I feel at the moment it's something I need to know things are ok.

Tinkles78 · 13/12/2021 22:44

I had no symptoms basically my entire pregnancy other than feeling constantly hungry in the 1st trimester, and then SPD and heartburn towards the end. No cravings, no nausea or sickness, no aversions. It's absolutely no indication of how your pregnancy is progressing! I had a couple of private scans around week 6 and week 17 which reassured me that all was perfectly well, so I'd recommend that if you can afford it.

Sunny1986 · 13/12/2021 22:57

I had no symptoms at all throughout my pregnancy and had a very small bump right until 35/36 weeks. Here I am breastfeeding a very healthy 5 week old. Try not to panic, you are likely just one of the lucky ones!

stickymarshmallow · 13/12/2021 23:05

I'm not sure if this helps, but with my son I had absolutely 0 symptoms even to the point of having two 'periods'. He's 7 now and despite hiding at the very start of his life, he certainly makes his presence known these days!

Once you get past the first scan and start feeling kicks and punches it does get easier :)

sageandbasil · 14/12/2021 03:45

Hey OP I barely had any symptoms and I'm currently feeding my 2 week old DD. Please don't read too much into it. My SIL had horrific sickness and sadly miscarried. Lack of symptoms dosent mean anything is wrong xx

Capricopia · 14/12/2021 08:50

I never really had any symptoms apart from being a bit more tired than usual. My baby is now a giant, thriving one year old.

7 weeks is still quite early, even for people who do end up with symptoms. Please don’t worry, it’s very normal not to feel much at 7 weeks.

Rachae · 16/12/2021 13:25

@S0987 hey how are you getting on? x

DaisyWaldron · 16/12/2021 13:29

I was like this with both my pregnancies, and throwing up every hour or two at 8 weeks.

S0987 · 23/12/2021 20:53

Hi all, how's it going? So I mean technically I'm like 10/11 weeks now but still no major symptoms - in fact even the slight boob pain I had before is withdrawing! There's this thing you can get called a handheld Doppler where you can hear the baby's heartbeat from about 12 weeks so I'm going to get me one of those and glue it to me! Rachae how you getting on? X

Jtb5790 · 23/12/2021 21:25

OP is there a reason you've not been for a private scan? Or are you close to your NHS one now?

Rachae · 23/12/2021 22:56

Hey @S0987 still no early scan for you? I'm ok thanks! Last scan was 8+3 and next one is NYE. Had a bad few days as I had a UTI discovered in a urine dip and I've been prescribed antibiotics. Stomach has been cramping loads and I just think the worst 🙈 but it's also the number 1 side effect of the antibiotics xx

S0987 · 24/12/2021 16:11

Hi @Rachae - omg I have the exact same thing! UTI and prescribed antibiotics. I just finished the course today but I still constantly need a wee. My left side keeps hurting as well - when you say stomach cramps do you mean lower stomach? Mine are like in my lower where you would normally feel period pains. I hope it's just a side effect of antibiotics like you said! I have my 12 week scan 5 January!
