Third trimester and double jabbed.

Would you still go to busy shopping centres for Christmas shopping and to a church full of people to watch child's nativity play.

I'd buy myself some N95 masks and go to a one off important thing like nativity service. I would steer clear of shopping centres and unnecessary drinks with colleagues / neighbours and other Christmassy things I didn't REALLY want to do.

I'd avoid busy shopping centres, etc. If I had a child in a nativity play I would check what precautions are going to be in place, eg will everyone be asked to do a lateral flow test prior to attending? will there be singing? what's happening with social distancing?, before making a final decision. If I were then satisfied that the risk management plan was sufficient for me to feel comfortable attending and for my child to attend, I'd go wearing good quality PPE - I'd arrive shortly before the start if possible and arrange to leave promptly, avoid unnecessary physical contact, and do regular lateral flow tests afterwards.

I would be being extremely careful if I could. However, as a teacher I feel like I'm being thrown alive to the wolves with no protection whatsoever. I am double jabbed but my booster is due in 2 weeks so my protection has reduced significantly. I'm really worried...

I'm being more careful now I'm in 3rd trimester but at least know I have the protection of 2 jabs.
Almost all of the pregnant women ending up in ITU are unvaccinated or only recently had their first jab.

I’m double jabbed + had my booster. Following some positive cases at work I’m now working from home full time as my coworkers are pretty lax with masks. I’d avoid the shops when it’s busy - ie get there as soon as the shops open or go to the evening opening. I’d also second wearing the N95 masks for church/nativity, be strict with hand washing, and try and distance as much as possible. I carry sanitiser in my bag as a lot of places have stopped having it out now.

It’s also not just covid you want to avoid - there are other respiratory illnesses out there we want to avoid!

I am due end of December. I will be going to my DC first ever Xmas
Nativity at their school and will be wearing an N95 mask, entering at final possible moment and sitting/standing right at the back. I will not be attending a large family christening and the reception the week after. I will attend a gathering of 6 friends who will all lat flow the morning of our meeting and we will keep window open to ventilate space etc, I will keep a distance from them (it will be at someone’s house). It’s tricky but basically unless I have to I’m avoiding large indoor gatherings of any kind. And I’m wearing an N95 in all public indoor spaces.

It hasn’t really occurred to me to be anymore careful than I already have been. I’m not going to my work Christmas party but that has more to do with my rapid expansion and general discomfort. I’m still doing all my Christmas shopping, still getting out and about etc. I will say though that I’m in Wales and we still need masks in shops etc so that’s not really a factor. To be honest though, I’ve had both my COVID vaccines and at this point I’m far more concerned about the many many viruses that aren’t COVID and seem to be EVERYWHERE.

I’d be careful if I could, but I work in a nursery and we’ve had 6 positive cases this week. But I’m super worried about. Staff and children positive so I can’t avoid it at the moment. Feel a bit stuck.
