Just wondering about people’s experience. I am 14 weeks and started scrolling through the sites looking at prams and cots etc .. I had no intention of buying yet but it’s hard to not get carried away and when sales are on. Just wondering how early did you order those bigger items? Thanks

We started after the 20 week scan for big stuff.

Be mindful of stock issues at the min, we ordered our pram bundle in august for a December baby and it still hasn’t arrived and it is now delayed until New year. Cue me now at 36 weeks trying to source another pram when I have no clue now what I want or if it will even be available.

I’m 31 weeks and just got my pushchair in the sales. It still feels a bit early to have bought it because I now have boxes coming out of my ears because it was in a bundle with car seat and base. I’m glad to have it though especially with stock levels likely to be erratic this year.
I’m looking at getting a next to me crib/Moses basket this week as well.

I’ve bought some clothes since my 20 week scan but not loads. I’m waiting for the Next Boxing Day sale because I found their stuff washed well last time.

OP I think it’s down to personal choice! I started picking up an outfit/baby grow now & again as soon as I hit 12 weeks, because I felt comfortable doing so. Im now 20 weeks & have got a few outfits & just ordered a bottle bundle in Black Friday sales.

If you see something you’d like to buy, then buy it. Especially if it’ll save you money during all these sales 😊

& congratulations!

Definitely depends on you really, plenty of people wait until the last month or even after baby is born to purchase lots of items.
We started before 20 weeks because we plan to buy most stuff second hand, partly because a pp mentioned, you just don't know if the baby will like the specific bouncer chair etc that you choose. We mitigated that by buying second hand so we haven't lost out on much if we need to replace with something else at a later date. (Buying second hand requires extra research/cleaning/effort that I wouldn't want to do when heavily pregnant so started earlier than I might have otherwise)
I know lots of people wait until they feel secure about the baby but I viewed it that there's always a risk and my anxiety was better focused on organising now as a distraction as otherwise I'd just feel even more anxious when it got closer to my due date and I needed to buy everything.
As pp mentioned, worth keeping an eye on stock delays, quite a few going on at the moment.

Separate to Black Friday deals. Bournemouth baby centre online usually have pretty great deals on pram bundles all year round. I got a good bouncer second hand so always have a look on fb marketplace. Anything with a mattress I.e cot, next me crib and Moses basket always get a brand new mattress as it's safer in terms of SIDS.
Hope you enjoy looking, I found it really exciting choosing everything 🙂

I bought the buggy at 16 weeks because it was on sale I got the cot at 32 weeks but it was in my parents home because I’m superstitious. It didn’t come into my home until I’d had DD.
With my eldest I was living at my parents so the cot I bought was put in their bedroom and I didn’t go near their room until he was born
