Anyone 37+ weeks and waiting for the arrival!

Hi, I’m currently 38+5 and watching for every sign! Feeling like I’m carrying a bowling ball around and just generally anxious about when it’s all going to happen!
Anyone in the same boat?
Or anyone being induced?
Or going in for a C Section?

I'll be 41 weeks tomorrow and I have sat from 37 weeks anxious to when it's going to happen and he still hasn't turned up! Here's hoping your little bundle of joy isn't as lazy as mine!
You'll be fine, when it gets to crunch time, it's already almost over :)

Hi, yes ! I am 38 weeks tomorrow and am feeling the same as you. I had a scan yesterday and the lady who did it said ‘oh you don’t have much longer now’ but what does that mean ?!? This is my 3rd baby and both my DS and DD came really quickly so every twinge is making me wonder... is it now ?! Doesn’t help that everyone at world keeps saying goodbye at the end of each shift ! Is this your first baby ? When is your due date ? Mine is supposed to be 5th Dec but I just can’t see me going that long ( I’m going for a home birth how about you ?)

@cherrybby Oh wow 41 weeks! I can only hope you’ve managed to rest as I know it’s frustrating waiting. Good luck and fingers crossed your little one is here soon!

@Loveteathebest This is the thing everytime I go in for an appointment or see anyone they always say not long now! And I am massive! Due date is 29th Nov! 3rd baby. So I feel I should know what I’m doing but the doctors are getting me really anxious (which I didn’t have with my other two).
I’d love a home-birth so I don’t have to leave my other two but the doctors are insisting I come in.

Im 38 weeks with baby number 1 and I feel done with being pregnant now! Absolutely every bit of my body is hurting and every time I stand up i feel like baby may fall out of me!
Ive been getting some back pain and the odd cramps but this hasnt been consistent so I dont think its a sign.
Blood pressure has been higher and ive had monitoring for it. Have another midwife appointment next week and no doubt it will still be high so will be sent back to triage. Wondering if they will do for induction as it will be my 2nd visit for the same thing?

@cherrybbycherrybby I am sure you will have you lovely baby soon, I was 8 days over with my DS and had a 2.5 hour labour ( he was my first ) but I was jogging round the block because I was too excited to wait any longer lol !

39 weeks today! First baby came at 40+4 so I’m expecting the same really, I’m having a sweep at 40+4 as well if baby isn’t here yet.
Still seems surreal to me, although this time I’m more organised than my first! I’m not really labour symptom watching yet, I feel like I’ll know when I know. I was hoping for a home birth too but they’re suspended here :(

@Arieliwish I know what you mean, I feel like I should have this down by now but apparently not ! My second was so fast I still thought I was going to the hospital until I got down on the bathroom floor and delivered her before the ambulance arrived ! As a result I don’t feel like I was in control or am any more informed this time.
The midwives didn’t want to even talk about a home birth with me until I told them it probably would be a choice given my last birth lol
Are you all packed and ready for the birth ?

Everyone has put in their request for when I should have the baby 🙄🙈 and I think everyone else is more impatient than I am 😂
Hoping for a nice spontaneous birth and out of the hospital ASAP. Will be refusing an induction if it comes to it so wondering how that will play out if she doesn’t come on time!

@Flutterby8 I’ve been having period cramps but just at the front of my belly really low down. It doesn’t come to anything though so probably just braxton hicks 🙄 I’m soooo ready to NOT be pregnant anymore!

@Ameteurmum yes I know that feeling, what if I go over by 2 weeks and end up having the baby at Christmas 🙈 nightmare ! I’m working up until 4 days before my due date which in hindsight was a stupid idea lol getting out of bed in the morning is almost impossible at this point (unless I have a killer leg cramp that is)

@Loveteathebest I thought I was ambitious working till 38 weeks 😂 that’s my fear as well - I’m due 12th but Christmas is like less than two weeks later 😱 just need to get through the next week, finish work, take the kids to see Santa and then she’s free to come whenever 😂😂😂

@Ameteurmum I don’t know what I was thinking 😂 yep me too, I just need to have another two weeks to get everything sorted but for some reason in the back of my mind I keep thinking the baby is coming in the next week.....could just be wishful thinking though !

Hi everyone! I’m 37+6 with my second baby..first came at 39+6 spontaneously. I felt things were getting started earlier this week as I lost a lot of plug and had mild cramps all night but now it feels like nothing is happening at all! I’ve forgotten how impatient there last few weeks can make you!

37+4 here! But booked for an elective section on Monday due to a very low lying placenta that was picked up totally incidentally on a growth scan earlier in the week (hadn’t been an issue on any previous scans which has caused some head scratching).

Initially gutted at thought of an elective section but getting my head around it now. Kind of weird to know when we’re going to meet him rather than it being up in the air!

38+2 today and unable to sleep anymore… FTM.. I’ve got GD but as I am diet controlled I will only be offered a sweep at 40weeks and induction at 40+5… I really hope this baby will arrive before, ideally next week? But apart some random Braxton Hicks no sign of him coming!
Being drinking raspberry leaf tea, bouncing on ball, had sex yesterday after ages! Any more suggestions?

@cloud2021 I’m with you on the no sleep! I remember after having my first how incredible it was to be able to lay face down on my belly again in bed :) just feel like a big uncomfortable ball! ..good on you for trying sex. I suggested this to husband but was met with a horrified stare so maybe not looking my most appealing 😂 I’ve been walking tonnes and this seems to bring on braxton hicks so maybe helping!

I’m 40 + 5 and omg I am ready for this baby to come but there is NO sign at all. I’m booked for induction on Tuesday but I swear if one more person texts me asking if there’s any sign of baby I’m not going to be responsible for my actions. It’s my second baby, my first one my waters went with no warning at 40+5 so I’m crossing my fingers today (legs firmly uncrossed)

Yes! I'm 37 + 2 and seriously fed up with being pregnant!

I've got spd and been on crutches since 30 weeks I'm struggling to walk now 😩
I can't get comfy I just hurt all the time and can't sleep.
I'm fed up of not being able to eat properly, all baby has allowed me to eat for the whole pregnancy is bread, cheese, pancakes, cereal and Mash potatoes 😭

And if anyone tells me or my husband I will go over due because its our first I will scream 😂

38 weeks, nearly 39. Hoping she comes soon! Pelvic pain, constipation, heartburn.

Also 38 weeks (with second) and I don’t think I’ve ever said ‘I’m fed up’ more often. First came at 40+1… I just want to not have reflux any more and to be normal human shaped again. This sucks.

So my mucus plug went last night and then I had period type pains and I thought - this is it!
But no….in less than an hour the pain had stopped.
I hear stress delays labour and I have been upto my eyeballs lately but yesterday I felt a lot better. Especially speaking with fellow mumsnetters. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Morning everyone, I’m completely over being pregnant ! I can’t move, the leg cramps are real and most of the time I want to cry (not for any reason lol) I’m on the pineapple/ raspberry leaf tea and sex but so far just mild period type pains 🙄 my husband said I have to wait until December..... I managed not to just laugh hysterically or cry or slap him so I am impressed with myself.

Lying on my front is also something I am looking forward to lol I forgot how much I liked it !

@Arieliwish hopefully things are getting started for you! It may be that it starts up again tonight...I’m sure I’ve read something that said most women go into labour at night, something to do with being relaxed and it being dark etc I think
