I'm 40+5 today, baby has a cardiac anomaly which will require possible surgery after birth. He's also measuring 97th centile (with a 36.5cm head so far!) but estimated weight a week ago was 8.3lb so not huge huge.
Saw consultant on Wednesday who agreed its best if I don't go too far over. She booked me in for induction today with the balloon and wrote within my notes "ideally within 48h" and requested it ASAP however got a call from this morning at 8am to say they are too busy and cannot induce me today, and it definitely won't be anytime soon. They need a bed for me but also need a NICU bed on standby for baby.
I'm just wondering if anyone has experience of this kind of wait for induction? The midwife said she would ring me again tomorrow morning for an update but I'm getting a bit anxious now and can imagine this dragging on for days..
Also, do they phone in the middle of the night if a bed does become available?
