Glucose + in urine

Hi all, just wanted some reassurance really...

I just had my 31 week midwife appointment and urine sample came back with 1+ of glucose on the dipstick. This is the first time this has happened and I had a GTT at 26 weeks which came back completely normal. (This was just a precautionary measure as I had a lot of water around my last baby although glucose was fine then too.)

She tried to reassure me by saying that it could be the giant bowl of Rice Krispies I had eaten prior to taking the urine sample but I do feel worried about it. I will be seeing her again in two weeks so she will check my urine again for me.

Can anybody offer me any reassurance? Has this happened to you?

Thanks in advance.

I had gegstianl diabetes and never actually had glucose in urine apart from the one time I was not aware I had it . I had also had a massive bowl of sugary ceral for breakfast. But after that it never happened again. I was then made aware a few weeks after that I had gegstialn diabetes. And was careful with what I ate and never needed medicine to help. Its good they picked it up it could be a one of from ur breakfast but its good they are checking again. Good luck

I had this on Monday at my 28 week appointment, I used my first urine of the day as well so I'd not eaten or drank in 9 hours so my midwife was puzzled. I was at the hospital today to see my consultant for something different, had my urine checked again and it was clear.
If you have it again they'll normally send you for fasting bloods, I had it twice in my first pregnancy but the bloods were clear. Try not to worry, if you've already had your GTT it's unlikely you will have gestational diabetes.
